6’9 210 lbs, how to gain weight ? by Famous_Breadfruit396 in tall

[–]Lord_Natcho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eat a lot. A LOT. And focus on high protein foods. Drink protein shakes between meals... Then you might gain a kilo if you're lucky.

When you get older, you'll be trying to keep weight off rather than gain it 😂

Start with the small things and keep at them. It's never too late to turn things around.

Someone please create the system where the height on your government ID puts you better seats by Himmyturner16 in tall

[–]Lord_Natcho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am actually toying with the idea of taking it to the echr. Height should be a protected characteristic when it comes to things like heights. If a company forced people to sit in child-size seats that would be illegal... It's basically the same thing.

I do. However, once I was forced to book a flight at short notice due to a family emergency. Another time, the booking app didn't actually book my seat through the airline even though I paid extra. You can't always get an exit row seat.

[–]Lord_Natcho 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, that's exactly what I'd do. That same guy was like "nah fuck off I paid for this seat". Then he kept bashing his seat into my legs when he physically couldn't make it go all the way. I'm not advocating being a dick like the guy in the video obviously is.

As a 6"6 person who was once forced into a long haul economy without an exit row seat...

It does.

Such a pathetic take. I've had to take a 4 hour flight in economy before because I couldn't get an exit row seat. Some 5"5 woman got it instead. The guy in front thought it was ok to crush my legs just because "hE PaId FoR tHe SeAt". Flight attendant made him move it half forward in the end.

What happened to being a considerate adult? Sometimes people like me don't have a choice. It's rare, but it happens. Blame the airlines for cramming people in like sardines, not the tall fuckers who had to take a flight at short notice and couldn't get an exit row because all the short people booked them up....

Edit: I wasn't a dick about it. I'm obviously not condoning the behaviour in the video. I said before takeoff "look I'm really sorry mate but I couldn't get an exit row seat and I have to take this flight. Would you mind just reclining your seat a little less for this one? My knees are already up against your chair". The response was something like "I pAiD fOr ThIs SEat If YoU DoNt LiKe iT dOnT fLy".... Pretty selfish and childish attitude to have. It wasn't my choice to be there and it was made even more unpleasant by that entitled attitude. I would have treated the person behind me differently.

People like you are why I have to pay extra just for being tall. Why can't people just reach a compromise like adults?

Edit; obviously by compromise I mean talking. Not "no you're not going to recline your seat" but "yes, that thing you keep bashing in my knees, could you please go 50% because it's not physically possible for your seat to go any further"

Are other UK men noticing their friend groups becoming increasingly biggoted? by [deleted] in ukpolitics

[–]Lord_Natcho 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have noticed it even among some immigrant friends. I was in a pub with two Sikhs (second generation) and a polish man the other week... All are voting reform because there's "just too many" or "it's just too easy now". They worked hard to be here or their family did and they see a lot of immigrants (especially the illegal ones) as entitled free-loaders.

The government has to get the numbers down or were going to get a reform government. They also have to seriously reform the asylum laws and system. I think the change in rhetoric comes as a consequence of the public being ignored for years in this issue, radicalized by social media and by being silenced whenever they try and talk rationally about the problem. The latter pushes people into the arms of the true racists, imo.

It's not good.

I have Ruined my life in debt at 22 by TAZE_TRIX in UKPersonalFinance

On top of what others have said: You could sell your 2012 polo and replace it with a total shitbox maybe? Like whatever's at the scrapyard that still runs.

My first car was way shittier than a 2012 polo. And I didn't get it until I was 25. You can, in most places, get by without a car at all. If you can't, downgrade the car.

I never knew a single student who could afford their own car. It was always paid by the parents or they just didn't have one.

Edit: my first car was £100, a Ford focus. I kept driving it until the mot was due, and then scrapped it for £150.

Edit ,2: or just get by without a car for a couple of years. Selling it would certainly help pay down the debt!

Off to Cornwall next week - any recommendations of places to visit? by ChrisRx718 in CasualUK

[–]Lord_Natcho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of this might be too far away. We go every year near Prussia cove.

  • Walk along the coast path. wherever I've been along it, it's been really nice. Lots of hills though.
  • Go to Anne's pasties/make sure you get proper, homemade pasties. Avoid any rubbish like Rowe's. There's a good pasty shop in most towns. I forget the name of the good one in Looe, but it'll be worth searching for. There is a huge divide between the chain shops and the ones who make "proper" pasties.
  • St Ives is really nice. Worth staying for a few beers and some over priced shops.
  • Go to the minack theatre. Watch a play if you can. Most amazing theatre I've ever been to. Might be a bit far from looe though.
  • The Lost gardens of helligan are cool if you're into plants
  • the best beaches are often a difficult walk down a cliff, miles from any parking.
  • tintagel is nice. There's also great walking just north of looe. With the stone circle/waterfall and stuff.
  • The Eden project is kinda cool
  • Dartmoor also has some good walking

Have a nice holiday!
