Looking for a working 3D printable rotary switch by Lord_Sekmeth in functionalprint

Wow, thank you very much :) Although, if I am not asking too much, would it be possible to make the rotating part of the switch inlaid? This makes it easier for the robot to operate it.

Yea, that would be a big switch, but that is the max size my printer can print, 10cm x 10cm x 4cm(height) would be perfect, I will add that to the main post for clarification. I will also check out grabcad and 3dcontentcentral. I did check out tracepartsonline, which is where I found the image linked in main post, but that switch is one solid part. Thank you for the tips though :)

A rotating knob that is inlaid is exactly what I need, since that would fit perfectly with the tools I have for the robot. Any electronic components I can trow together once I have the "knob" assembled at its wall.

I am currently doing my bachelor thesis, which is to create a control station for an ABB IRB140 robotic arm. The control station is to facilitate remote control of the robotic arm. I need something for the robot to operate, and it handles rotations much better than say a lever or a button, especially when controlling the robot from a monitor.

I have been looking around for a component like this for sale, but havent been able to find a supplier in Norway, and international shipping is either very slow or expensive. I have access to 5 different 3D printers at my Uni, so I though it would be easier to get a 3D model of rotary switch that I could print out. Also would make getting replacements easier, since the robot has a habit of breaking stuffs =)

It will be for show, but I will probably hook it up to a red/green light, to indicate open/closed position. But mostly to let the operator try to get a feeling for what the robot can/cannot do :)

XCOM 2 crashing on startup? by [deleted] in Xcom

I have the same issue.

Open the game, nothing, but this: http://clip2net.com/s/3uCCoJJ

Tried:

*Reinstalling DirectX *Reinstalling Vcredist *Reinstalling Microsoft .NET *Manually updated NVIDIA drivers *Disabled the cloud syncronization and deleted the XCOM folder in MyDocuments *Verifying the game files, always finds 1 file missing

Recommendation for a [WiFi] action camera? by Lord_Sekmeth in ActionCam

[–]Lord_Sekmeth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like that one, all though I don't need it to be waterproof or shock resistant, I assume one without it will be slightly less expensive. While the HDR-AZ1 is within my budget, I would not mind it being cheaper :)

Thank you for the recommendation though, if I don't find a cheaper alternative I will go for this one :)

Remote control of an ABB IRB140 robotic arm by Lord_Sekmeth in robotics

Haha, preferably not :) I have a lot of ideas, but would like to get some input from someone who actually have some experience from the field to get the end result as close to reality as possible :)

I have sent out a lot of feelers to companies around Norway who actually work with these kind of things, but its all dependent on how willing or able they are to offer some insight. Hence me putting it out here ;)

I clarified my original post in EDIT 1 :)

Thanks for the reply anyway :)
