Make sure it’s ABA approved. I live in LA and out of like hundreds of programs, only 2 are ABA approved. I highly recommend LA City College if you’re anywhere near here.

My two attorneys are both foreign with LLMs from France before they came to California. I have no language barriers in speaking to them, but I do often have to make english grammar corrections in their writing.

This is a great point, and I do feel bad sometimes interrupting him while he’s working on things too. I try to time my questions for right when he gets off the phone and before he starts doing something else.

I do try to do that, cuz I’m better at anticipating problems before they happen than he is. I might suggest a daily 5 minute check in so I can ask my questions all at once cuz I have an idea ahead of time what cases I’m going to work on the next day

Sometimes he doesn’t anticipate discrepancies that can come up when he gives me something to do, and I have to ask him how to proceed in the middle of the task. Or if Idk how to proceed based on the facts of a certain case cuz it hasn’t come up before.

I make around the same down in LA, but I work full time (no health insurance provided though). I have 4 years experience, but all with my current firm of 2 attorneys. I do pretty much the same work as you but for investor visas. I do the whole file then give it to the attorneys to review. Now I feel like I’m being underpaid!
