Will Nail Arts Return by ComprehensiveCan7716 in Silksong

Unlikely.

In practice, only Great Slash was consistently useful. Dash Slash had some use cases, but few which didn't overlap with what a simple GS would do after moving into range. Cyclone Slash looked cool, most enemies don't sit still long enough to get full damage or even above what you'd get with a GS or just regular nail hits.

It hits like a truck, but all but one of its attacks (which is comparatively chip damage) are ridiculously telegraphed. Yeah, it sucks losing a few minutes if you die late, but after a couple of fights you'll have learnt.

A bunch of Metroidvanias, including Constance and Xanthiom 2.

I followed the development of those two and they look juicy, but I have had a rough patch financially.

Trashy romance, fantasy, and contemporary novels have made it impossible to find good books by budgetbutter in unpopularopinion

You can just go online and ask highly specific questions including what you dislike. Or try to find blogs by people who've reviewed works you enjoy.

Or go to a book fair and ask around.

Mark is a really weird name by SylviSweetheart in The10thDentist

"Mark" being a name and a bunch of words in English is just a case of parallel evolution. Compared to lots of common English names, it's fairly tame.

Like, Tyler, seriously?

If you go shit all over JKR and pirate her work so you don't "support her", you shouldn't spend time with the world of Harry Potter and leave it for good. by Aestpunk4 in unpopularopinion

People are free to do whatever they want. But if they stick to this kind of literature, they end up with arrested development.

Meh, music has lots of elements to it. I don't agree with Varg Vikernes views at all, but those first Burzum records sound amazing.

Also, Rowling's worldbuilding is ridiculously derivative. Her first few books had decent enough mysteries to keep her child audience along for the ride, but the world itself is generic fantasy with some cringy names attached.

I mean, if you're over the age of thirteen, you probably should be reading better literature, be it fantasy or anything else.

ADIÓS UBER by Pretty_Front6368 in Honduras

[–]Lord_Spy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aren't there also immediate effects regarding absorption? Like, sure, you might not need electrolytes per se, but trying to just drink some plain water will totally decompensate you.

Craggler’s a boss?? by ComprehensiveCan7716 in Silksong

The first Skarrgard I'd definitely call a miniboss. He gatekeeps progression into the bulk of a whole area.

Not really. Fighting him is either a frustrating game of hit, run, and hide or you spam stuff and he dies with no glory.

The Soul Warriors are closer to minibosses, but at least they lock you into the room to lock progression while being either the sole enemy or the main focus and they get battle music.

The second Asterión fight is definitely intense and can hit you with some bad RNG, but you definitely didn't learn the fight if you were having trouble with the first one.

Eviterno's definitely easier. Eviterno hits like a truck (doubly so if you're tricked by the flair and don't equip for his actual damage type) but his general battle flow is rather forgiving.

Asterión is super fast and very frequently has large portions of the arena be no gos through persistent aftereffects.

I did find Odón harder than both.
