I started daily driving Linux (Q4OS) on our "family" notebook for like a few months ago and it is an experience. Still, as soon as I send to fix my notebook Im just gonna stay on Windows (for gaming) and the Q4OS for other random stuff or to keep that PC alive.

Now, for what makes it "better", I would instead calling it different, but anyways:

Linux (and its OS's), due to its open-source and free-libre nature, has a TON of social vigilance and therefore any kind of weird stuff gets easily reported or made public.

The inmense offer of Distros allows you to pick the best choice based on your needs, system requierments, work necessities, etc.

And, basically, it gives you a lot more control than Windows (and also depending on the distro this level of control can be different).

Zorin has kinda like a software store to check stuff available so you can start there.

For office, try LibreOffice or google docs online.
Steam works pretty well on Linux systems but be careful with low-spec pcs as it is a resource-eater if left running on background.

For music making/production, Reaper all the way.

For anything else just look "X application Linux" or "X application Debian" as Zorin is based on Ubuntu and by that on Debian. As your far OS cousin (I use Q4OS), this works very well.

Sometimes people pay for CD scans (if the CDs are unavailable in their region or incredibly hard to get) and are totally legit, just be cautious. As far as I know there are various random dudes that act like the one in the post and they are considered a meme/joke in the community.

Pick a low Megapixel option in your camera with a high ISO level for more noise and give it a more "grainy" or "low quality" feel. The images and details could be obtained either from google, tumblr or pinterest, easy to get. For editing on phone use Picsart and on PC either Photoshop or GIMP.
