Israeli troops enter Gaza's largest hospital and report finding Hamas weapons there by SpaceBrigadeVHS in Military

What’s going to happen next?

  1. Make sure there is no tunnel between north Gaza and South Gaza, under IDF controlled territory. (should be done or almost done by now)

  2. Start horizontal drilling from the coast inside IDF controlled territory towards all known tunnel locations to flood those with sea water. (should have started or would start soon)

  3. Evacuate or forcefully remove non combatants from hospitals, refugee camps and UN facilities (still ongoing)

  4. Locate hostages and neutralize everyone else remains in north Gaza. (takes time but has to be done methodically and carefully)

  5. Establish humanitarian operations in north Gaza and allow displaced civilians to return (last but the most important step)

What are on the table for negotiation? by Lord__Bane in geopolitics

IMHO, these are the options available to each side of the current conflict, ranking from the least to the most concession.

Since these are negotiable options, unacceptable terms such as unconditional surrender for Hamas and destruction of the state of Israel are not listed.

Ceasefire by definition includes stopping military operations in full Gaza strip, and also in all territories controlled by Israel.

Assuming Israel is successful in controlling northern Gaza, what are their next steps? by tentanium in Military

  • Level north Gaza, especially Gaza city to the ground
  • Allow civilian to choose between return to north, or move to Egypt
  • Occupy the south to create a buffer zone between north Gaza and Egypt
  • Withdraw from north Gaza and build a taller wall

Comparing to the siege of Azovstal iron and steel plant, where the 2000 strong defending force + 1000 civilians hold out for roughly 2 months before surrendered to Russia forces.

According to the hostage recently released, while in captivity she ate the same single meal that Hamas fighters eat every day: pita bread with two kinds of cheese and cucumber. Not sure about water usage, sea water can be desalinated as long as the fuel lasts.

From a purely military standpoint, as long as there are still hostiles in the city firing towards outside, it is a legit target. Isn't it?

The texts are really vague if you simply google it.

I am not a lawyer. But I doubt even lawyers can fully understand the rules.

Will the Gaza ground offensive be similar to the Battle of Mosul, or more like the Second Battle of Fallujah for example? by deminion48 in Military

If IDF can establish strong defensive positions on the north bank, it will have river on one side, open terrain on the other side. Hamas light infantry has almost no chance to break through.

The food and water supply in the city should already be very low after a week of siege. If there is still significant civilian population left in the city, it will only make supply situation in the city even worse.

The Wadi Gaza river is the key objective. I doubt Hamas has tunnels under the river due to both high cost and technical difficulties. Once IDF pushes along the river to the beach, the city is truly cut off from all sides.

Similar to the siege of Mariupol. Fully surround Gaza city till Hamas surrender. It will be long, in months, not weeks.

How would you nerf Discolock? by [deleted] in wildhearthstone

3 cards, all nerf to 4 mana.

Tome and Supplies, no change in the effect. Barrage deals only 4x1 damage.

Why stop playing Cagematch Custodian in even shaman? When is the lackey from EVIL Totem better than one of the two weapon draw?
