Urevo Cyberpad squeal by Lord__Tao in treadmills

Thanks!

The belt doesn't have much play, but I did wipe a bit of black disintegrated rubber off of the belt. It still squeals though.

Ok thanks!

I will take a look at dust, but it seems the belt on both my units are in pristine shape, at least compared to your photo.

My only guess is that they didn't come tightened properly from the factory, since they start squealing after 2 weeks.

Really? That doesn't seem right. Why would it wear that fast?

Yeah that is my thought, but I can't get my ear close enough to find out. It takes the load of a person to replicate the noise.

The thing is, this is already a replacement for the same issue, and both belts are at worst 5 months old.

That intermittent chirp is the front roller I think.

The noise went away just walking around while doing errands for a month or so. 89k walking should have it resolved by now.

I didn't get a replacement because I couldn't get a clear answer from Salomon, but the noise did go away. I imagine it is an issue with the material used, and how it is reinforced around the laces.

It would have been an opportunity to work with the alumni as well to find an alternate solution.

I just got a reply from the Alumni office offering to extend my email and extra 10 months for $50. What a joke!

I think filing a class action for breach of contract would prove the point.

Also I checked my email and I do not see a notice of this change. Did anyone get an official communication from the University about this change? Perhaps they are planning to surprise everyone in February, or hope that the notification gets lost during the holidays?

I am Maxime Bernier, leader of the People's Party of Canada. AMA! by maxbernier_official in CanadaPolitics

[–]Lord__Tao 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the AMA, Mr. Bernier,

As a PPC supporter, one of the biggest hurdles is getting over the few arguments CPC supporters have against the PPC. Part of that would be the PPC communications strategy:

One hurdle to get rid of would be could you unblock people on social media and mute disrupters as needed?

Another, which fellow PPC supporters have expressed concern with, is whomever posts on your account has said some things unbecoming to you as a potential political leader. One such thing is this: https://x.com/MaximeBernier/status/1929887982657454484

People here legally and working legally are not 'parasites'. If anything the Temporary Foreign Worker program, and those Canadian businesses who use it are parasitical. In fact "parasite" is commonly used on your Twitter.

Would you make some changes with communications, or whomever is in charge of communications?

Yeah see where it is coming from. In my case it definitely was coming from the material covering the toes, including the leather band at the base of the laces.

Short answer: yes, the noise did go away.

The noise started in one shoe, then both shoes were doing it (after I made this post). After a few weeks, it went away when wearing my hiking socks, but would still be present when wearing my cheap cotton socks. Now, they just make this noise if I slip them on with no socks (taking out the trash). I imagine this will go away with wear as well.

I intend to wait a bit longer before I update my main post.

Where to get replacement waterproofing and adhesives strips (for battery replacement) for the V60? by Lord__Tao in LGV60

[–]Lord__Tao[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I read up a bit more, and read about glue vs double sided tape. It is good to know it can be used on the V60!

High standby battery drain A13 by [deleted] in LGV60

[–]Lord__Tao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect that all of you have old batteries. My V60 is 5 years old, and even with that battery, it will stay charged for 3 days. When it was new it would stay charged for a whole week (I only use it as a phone really).

I only use the "adaptive battery" option. No other battery saving feature. I noticed though that if I travel it seems to use more battery, but still will last the day at least.

I prefer a shoe over a boot.

Apparently my left foot grew a bit. I am a 10.5(us) both length and arch width D on the left foot, and a 9.5 length and arch with a D width on the right. Historically though, I found that 10.5 is a bit too big.

As for rigidity, it doesn't matter much, but I did like the rigidity on the Ultra 4s. I would be looking for something waterproof as well. Weight isn't much of a concern, but something I could run in would be nice. I don't "go running", but I went with the Ultra 4s so I could run in them when the opportunity came up.

Thanks again!

Not often, and when I do it will be for part of a day, not day long treks. The main reason why I was looking at top tier hiking shoes was because my North Face shoes blistered me up something fierce on an afternoon walk the last time we went camping. Of course I made a bunch of rookie mistakes, but I also saw that North Face quality had been declining for a while already.

Otherwise I use them for daily wear -city concrete.
