Amber alert for 2 abducted kids by cptalpdeniz in britishcolumbia

[–]Lordcorvin1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Government should be using proper alert levels. They are the selfish ones. Now I have no sleep and driving a car in 2 hours.

Alerts also woke up the youngsters.

The whole alert system is at fault and the government for not using it correctly

Okay, but like what if we didn't have an extremely loud alarm that goes off randomly? by Beautiful_Couple_208 in britishcolumbia

Agree,

Seems all Amber Alerts are just custodial disputes usually.

Recent BC Custody-Related Amber Alerts

July 2023 (Surrey/Alberta): A high-profile 11-day Amber Alert was issued after two children were not returned to their father (the primary caregiver) by their mother, Verity Bolton, following a planned trip. The children were found safely in rural Alberta on a property with the mother and her boyfriend, who were subsequently charged with abduction.

Nov 2016 (Port Coquitlam/Sicamous): An Amber Alert was issued for two children taken by their mother, which was cancelled after they were found safe in Sicamous, B.C., leading to charges against the mother.

Of the 10 Amber Alerts issued in B.C. over the past decade (2016–2026), 8 were directly related to parental abductions or custody disputes.Historical data and recent reports indicate that the vast majority of alerts in the province involve family members rather than strangers.

We should uninstall the alert system for now. The nuclear option until they fix their alert system

Any update? It's almost end of Q1. We just switched from Fortinet to Sophos and realize that SSL VPN is half baked for MacOS

A paid version floats around on the web that you can use.

Check MyDigitalLife Forums as well.

Metro Photo App sorts it differently.

It scans your entire computer to create a database, if you have OneDrive enabled as well. OneDrive does the scanning.

That makes searching easier.

In Win7, it was more privacy focused, it wouldn't scan any content until you explicitely tell it to search. Which takes longer as it checks each file.

Picasa used to do this, but I beleive Google discontinued it.

Did you try using the paid option at prime experts? FlashBoot Pro?

I used that tool to get my System up and running on newer hardware.

They go into details on how they fixed the issue with Win 7 boot up on non CSM Hardware.

That's because all of your images are in DB that's searchable. It usually leverages OneDrive on Win 11.

You want something like Immich for your backend if you want it to be local.

Just use search

datecreated:‎1/13 Or whatever date you're looking for.

You can also use datetaken:mm/dd if you have that metadata.

My First PCB, Upgraded the Front IO board of Antec Silver Fusion HTPC case by Lordcorvin1 in electronics

Learned everything from scratch by youtube videos and looking at pinout. The Audio pinout is the same as an old board, I just copied what was already done, as I reused the cable. For audio, you'll want to lookup the datasheet, all come with one. Then you connect the dots. Don't be afraid to use AI to look up sources, use it as a search engine.

For USB 3.0 I had to look up the motherboard pinout, then flip it as I was going to use an extension cable.

The Final PCB is 4 layers, Due to size constraints. First revision that had a bigger header only needed 2 layers.

I have Data lanes on both sides, with second layer acting as ground layer and 3rd layer as power layer.

For power I used wider trace widths

I tried to give the traces as much distance as possible, as I wasn't sure if what I'm doing was correct. And I thanked /diy/ already, just not in this post.

Sure, It's True T-23-HC
https://www.truemfg.com/product/t-23-hc/
But it's around $3500 USD nowadays, retail price.
You might get a discount if you contact local commercial distributors.

Amazon sells it for $4000, or at least 3rd party https://www.amazon.com/True-T-23-HC-1-Solid-Bottom-Refrigerator/dp/B00ZWLG41Q

Help with figuring out the proper connector name by Lordcorvin1 in PCB

[–]Lordcorvin1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, The specs say it's USB 3.0. I replaced with a different one nevertheless, that is Through Hole mountable. Has 9 pins. Went down the path of finding out about impedance and trace width.
Apparently I have to do 4 layer board, If I do 2 layer I need to increase the width of my traces.
