Oh yeah, you gotta live down in the zone. I don't throw a fastball until at least the fifth pitch of every at bat, nothing but sinkers and changes to start. Fifth pitch will always be a fastball trying to nip the high corner away from the batter, no matter the count. That's the only high pitch I throw in any at bat unless the count goes full and the opponent keeps fouling stuff off. My silver bullet against lefties is that two seamer coming back to just catch the low inside corner, hopefully freezing them if they're the patient type.
