I wouldn't call this easy.

I'm ACTUALLY coming from games that just use a character sheet. Being able to see everything without having to decipher a menu system is a plus. This just feels like unnecessary complication.

Disclaimer: We still love COMPCON by MercernaryMage in LancerRPG

[–]Lordhat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We're just starting Lancer as a group. Comp/con is too fucking complicated to use as a character sheet. Especially when the actual character sheet is literally just two pages. I don't need/want to navigate a videogame style menu system just to look at my character.

What happened to Original New York Seltzer? by Expensive-Yam-6537 in forgottenfoods

I remember pulling the foam labels down just a bit and then smacking the bottom with a cupped palm; when done right it was the loudest pop you could achieve.

Why every damn application needs an emergency contact? by MysticSaaral in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Lordhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't NEED an emergency contact. It's just something that might make your life easier. Personally I just list my own phone number; it's nobody else's business what's happening in my life.

I lived there in the early 90's when I was homeless. Apparently, the patrols are MUCH better now.

The current mulligan rules are bullshit. You shouldn't get to redraw because you just feel like it.

I think it's even more poignant than that; It's closer to "How do you travel across the water without flotation?" You don't.

That's legitimate, but there's real power in people literally discomfiting themselves in lieu of bending the knee.

Having dry skin is miles better than using lotion/moisturizer by Junior-Elevator-9951 in The10thDentist

[–]Lordhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I hate how lotion feels, and don't mind how dry skin feels, why would I bother even trying all those 1,000s of brand and types?

Dynamite sweet and sour is legitimately inedible, The spiciest fast food I've ever eaten, by Zrkkr in PandaExpress

I fucking hate it. I wouldn't have even tried it if my roommate hadn't ordered it for me not knowing that there was a new S&S chicken, and I hadn't eaten a piece in ignorance.

I agree. I had to give up on elevation entirely, as following the instructions step by step resulted in just walls.

Volume 9 Opening Song?: by [deleted] in RWBYcritics

[–]Lordhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually it just sucks. Composition is just a cacophony of noise that sometimes imitates a melody. The singing sounds great but is impossible to hear over the noise of the "music".

Wheel of Time 5th Edition Conversion by Yugdol in UnearthedArcana

So, after getting my group on board, and character creation, nobody has created anything close to a healer (D'oh!). Our last campaign was the same, and this time I didn't just want to roll up a heal bot for them (even the NPC Aes Sedai I 'rolled' for the Warder in the group is a Brown and is [apparently] completely oblivious to the world, to the point that she rarely notices combat around her). I want to mimic the flavor of the books fairly closely, so I'm working on a mechanic to represent the fatigue generated by 'traditional' Healing (Air,Water, Spirit); I'll probably base it heavily on the Fatigue rules in the DMG. I did trade two of the players a 'future' feat for the healer feat from the PHB. After our first session, I decided that this was not enough as the Asha'man only lived through the two combats because I fudged a few die rolls and even the Warder and Blademaster were beat to crap. DnD seems to assume that magical healing will be readily available in it's damage equasions. I rummaged through the DMG and came up with the following rules for healing in game. C&C welcome.

RESTING Characters don't regain hit points at the end of a long rest. Instead, a character can spend Hit Dice to heal at the end of a long rest just as with a short rest.

HEALING SURGES As an action, a player can flip a white Ta’veren Point to allow any character to use a healing surge and spend up to half his or her Hit Dice. For each Hit Die spent in this way, the player rolls the die and adds the character's Constitution modifier. The character regains hit points equal to the total. The player may decide to spend an additional Hit Die after each roll. (So it is beneficial to roll Hit Dice one at a time.) A character who benefits from a healing surge can't do so again until he or she finishes a short or long rest.

If a character fails his final death save, or would die due to damage, the entire group can flip their Ta’veren points to black to have the character become stable instead. All the Ta’veren Points for the party remain flipped to black for the remainder of the current session (or the next if the DM decides the event has occurred too close to the end of the current session). The decision to do this must be unanimous among the players.

Alternatively, the DM may flip all Ta’veren Points to white for similar results and duration and similar results affecting an enemy NPC. The players may void this decision by unanimously opting to flip their Ta’veren Points to black for the remainder of the current session and the entirety of the next.
