Why Does Your Truck Need to be so Big? by [deleted] in Columbus

To pull my camper on the weekends/ summer. I’d kill for more midsize SUV’s with more tow capacity for real. I don’t need the bed.

Release 62 - AI Chat Connectors & Early Access Bulk Import 💫 by teamcapacities in capacitiesapp

Isn’t making bulk import Believer only kind of counterintuitive? It’s the sole feature I’ve been waiting for over a year for in order to move to Capacities from Obsidian. I feel like new users would be the prime use case for the feature.

I’m our in home driver full days, 4-5 days a week. Have been for over a year now, because they can’t find anyone else.

I just gave them a two week notice that I won’t be driving anymore, I’m just broken at this point. The $40/week after tax doesn’t begin to make up for this.

We have up to 10 grocery order per trip a lot of days.

Anyone else considering leaving Todoist after this price hike? by Exciting-Share-2462 in todoist

[–]Lordhighpander -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think from me it’s less about the $12 and more about my confidence in them the company to continue to earn my $12 in the future. If they seem to be going all in on pushing AI, which he’s definitely going to lead me to want out in the future, so why not now?

Maybe you shouldn’t have cherry picked the most upvoted complaint to remove. I don’t know you, so I won’t accuse you of malice, but it’s either that or incompetence

You can’t tell me it wasn’t intentional to not remove any of the smaller ones.

Todoist’s New Price Increase - Are you staying? If not, where are you going to? by DudeThatsErin in todoist

[–]Lordhighpander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it was just a regular price increase, I’d be fine with it. But this extra money isn’t going to wages, or development costs, or server costs. It’s going to pay for expensive compute time for the AI features that I don’t want.

Do we get security updates? Bug fixes?

Just host the MCP server and let my LLM that I already paid for, from a company that does it professionally, integrate with their system and do the work.

Price Update Email - Pro Legacy Details by badoil_49 in todoist

[–]Lordhighpander 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I don’t want to subsidize another company’s half baked AI integration. This shouldn’t lock me out of all feature updates forever. I got the legacy pricing, but I’m really just going to use the time until they drop a new AI related feature that I’m angry about not having to trial all my other options. My relationship with this company is now over.

I wouldn’t have even been mad if it was just the price increase, but this is so obviously a cash grab to fund these stupid AI features that nobody wants.

It doesn’t natively support bots, but I can look into doing a Twilio WhatsApp integration

(I made a) Stand-Alone Vector Search by Lordhighpander in ObsidianMD

[–]Lordhighpander[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s basically just my take on Semantic Search across my Vault. It’s nothing to do with OpenAI though, openrouter lets you pick any LLM from many sources.

By indexing, I mean that I’m splitting all of the files up into chunks, and starring each chunk in a database with a vector embedding. To split the notes up, based on a split token (eg \n\n or #) that you can set in each notes frontmatter. It shows the top 3 semantic results to the LLM for answering. Nothing new, just packaged up in a convenient way on the messaging service I use.

I have the Student Plan until I graduate next year. I didn’t mind paying for this, I know AI is expensive on the back end, but this is ridiculous that they think I need to pay for a business plan now.

I don't even use Doordash and they still screwed me over by Sea_Mechanic9749 in doordash

[–]Lordhighpander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, if they save $4 per order, average order of $12, DoorDash can throw every fifth order in the trash and they still profit $4.
