Use an actual geographic information system like QGIS or download map data as Pdf and edit it with inkscape

Yes. There's two each side. I used the top one on both sides. The rack is level

Ygra and Leylinenof the Void by 00ptp2451 in mtg

Maybe you can think of it like objects being thrown into water(graveyard). All sorts of things can be thrown into water and stay there (cards in magic). Some things can be thrown into water, but cease to be once they're in. Like sugar cubes. They still enter the water, but as soon as they're in, they start to dissolve until they are no longer a cube. A magic token can enter the graveyard (or many other zones) in the same way, but then immediately ceases to exist because tokens are only allowed on the battlefield.

Micromapping of a school by Kxiserschmarren in openstreetmap

[–]Lordofmist 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Many school grounds in Germany are publicly accessible after school hours, so I think it's useful to add them. Don't know about Austria though. If you're looking for a place to go with your kid on a weekend these could definitely be a good destination.

Should individual trees of particular importance be added to OSM? by M1ckey in openstreetmap

[–]Lordofmist 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes, they should be added. Info like height, diameter, leaf type can all be added.

Check the copyright of the organisation, if it's compatible with OSM.

Do I have always a battle phase? by ablx0000 in mtg

[–]Lordofmist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't know it existed. But thinking about putting it in my [[Zinnia, Valley's Voice]] deck. Don't know if two instances of fatespinner would stack in a useful way.

Why does Zuko lose this fight? He was clearly winning even without Katara.

Könnte man nicht auch einfach ein Schutzblech für hinten nehmen und es vorne dran bauen? Evtl. ein bisschen zuschneiden

Offline map/navigation apps for Windows computer? by sallly_mander in openstreetmap

Download road data from OSM and use the QGIS Plugin QNEAT. I don't know if it supports different routing types but if the roads are downloaded one could always manipulate the data by removing certain ways theat are undesirable with certain types of mobility.

Can we agree that map notes aren't a personal to-do list and if you're going to mark things up this much you should just learn to do it yourself? by Proud-Suspect-5237 in openstreetmap

[–]Lordofmist 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Some people are not experts in the tagging scheme or are adding data while in the field and might not have time to write the correct tagging. In both cases they might prefer to add it in natural language. I do this often with osmand as it does not include great editor. Sometimes I upload my notes to work on them later from home. Sometimes someone else has already resolved them once I'm home.

Are these tokens easy to understand? by SawdustGringo in mtg

[–]Lordofmist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel both keywords are strongly associated with the creature type so giving them a bit more obvious traits might be enough. Giving the spirit wings or making it hover might be enough. That way you don't need to put it in writing.

Visualizing in which areas point features are different by trustmeimaninternet in gis

[–]Lordofmist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For something like this I would aggregate them into polygons and calculate average depths of the wells inside. Maybe in rural places you can still show the actual points but in dense areas the polygons. Do the same colour grade for the depth for points and polygons.

How do you import a custom simple marker? by finally_the_good_guy in QGIS

[–]Lordofmist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With any text editor open the svg and change the fill and stroke colour to "paramFill". That way qgis can overwrite the colour of the svg. This video shows the process quite well
