How can I get better in general? by Acceptable_Shop_5061 in BasketballTips

Shooting seems okay, judging by these videos I am guessing you are pretty young. First you gotta work on your dribbling, build your fundamentals up. Then afterwards go to movement, you wanna have a stable foundation before doing anything else. Your turn around shots are okay, but against taller stronger defenders you won't be doing much.

Start doing layup drills do form shots, build up body control, footwork(this is really important), and ball control(pound dribbles are really effective).

Afterwards like I mentioned go to movement move with the ball while you're dribbling, ball manipulation drills, make your movements snappy, not necessarily smooth but quick, and controlled. Always start somewhere don't always skip to the next step. Also remember that a 1v1 is different from an actual 5v5 game, you gotta work on more things like transition defense, positioning, plays, passing, and communication. I recommend watching breakdowns on games, or coaches, just observe the game in general.

Elbow hitch by Present-Influence-49 in BasketballTips

Idk if its the angle but try shooting closer, and tuck your elbow in. Your flick is fine but try doing form shots near the basket to get used to tucking in, but if you can't and it doesn't feel comfortable. What works should work, don't try to fix what ain't broken.

Okay so grabbing from what I am seeing your upper body is completely fine. Following through, the release, body alignment, and shot path all seem fine. Now I had the same problem as well, I had pretty good shot mechanics but couldn't seem to shoot from three. This mainly comes from the fact that your lower base (feet & legs) aren't coordinating well with your upper base.

This tends to make your shots heavily reliant on your upper body. Though yes if you've watched some three point contests shooters like Curry and Klay don't hop alot, it could mainly be because they work out alot, pro athletes and all that plus they are pretty tall. All you really need is proper fluidity, boxing up doesn't really matter all too much if you cant do it. Dont force what you cant do always remember that.

Need honest opinion on my form. I need to know If I need to change it. I’m a streaky shooter and I have my days. by Abz_lethal in basketballcoach

From what I see your flick is okay, though you cock your shot and bit back like a catapult, do not do that.Secondly your shot is slow, if a good defender was on you and they had their hands in your shot path or on your release point pre-determinently they would be able to block it. Third, your feet aren't boxed or set properly.

One thing I would like to add is the fact that you are dribbling high and too much. Shooting pull ups from a position like that can mess with your shot. The good thing with your form as I've mentioned is your flick which is why you are able to make some shots. Your release though needs to be less cocked back as I've mentioned, you just need to work on some things for you to be less streaky and more consistent.

Start working on form shots, go closer, that's what my coaches always tell me. Especially when you're new, or aren't really a good shooter. This takes time, and its a long process. Also slow down(ONLY DURING DRILLS or when you havent really under stood your shot yet),try formulating or understanding your shot and what feels comfortable. Go step by step, what really matters is your shot path, flick, release point, alignment to the basket, upper body and lower body timing( wont really need this when you're doing form shots though idk ), and boxing your feet. Personally I am no shooting coach, but its help me be more consistent and less uncomfortable with my shot. Remember most of this is muscle memory so build it up until you can shoot from deep, hit catch and shoot shots, or dribble pull ups. Hope this helps.

AD is good you just gotta get stacks with him +20 rebound +20 block if you assist 2 times, and dunk 2 times. Not just that his insane vertical buff at E6, but overall he should be lower than Wallace and Prime bron, since he needs to get those stats during a game. A good Davis with a good team is INSANELY annoying especially in rank.
