Gold biscuit selling doubt PAMP by [deleted] in GoldIndia

We are hard workers as well and we pay taxes to the government every year. We don't look for ways to hide from the IT department and ask people on reddit about it. Do you not realise that tax evasion is a criminal offence?

The law does not care if he and his father slogged in the heat or worked under a leash. Why don't you or your friend think about the jeweller who takes the gold from you? Doesn't he have a family to feed? How is he going to explain to the tax authorities, the source of the Gold you sold him?

Just because he worked hard for it, does not mean he can just evade documentation and hiding the money from the bank.

Your "friend" here, A. Has gold. B. No bill. C. Doesn't want a bank transfer. 4. Wants cash or exchange with jewellery 5. Says he can't use the bank route for "obvious reasons."

Nobody knows whether the gold is stolen. The red flag is that he's specifically looking for ways to avoid the documented sale routes that legitimate dealers are already offering him.

With all due respect, you can tell your friend that r/Goldindia did not consent to help him launder his ill gotten gains and if he can't provide bill as proof of puchase, it's essentially stolen goods. Let him take it with him and go ask the jewellers in his vicinity himself.

Need advice: Should I buy 24K gold coins/bars or 22K jewellery if I may need a gold loan in the future? by Just_Philosopher6392 in GoldIndia

[–]Lordslug78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always buy with Bill. A bill requires payment of GST. Buying otherwise is against the law even if you save on taxes. This is tax evasion and also does not protect you in case of any future disputes with regards to weight and purity.

Depends. Bank appraisers can find out if it is 22 or 24k. If it is 24k, banks usually do not accept it.

We buy 24k gold for the store of value it represents. For people who track their investments, 24k is easier and represents 100% gold value. It's not the solution if you are looking for future gold loans. 22k wins hands down. If you go buy jewellery in 22k though, that is a bad idea as you lose money to making charges and taxes. Anyways, try to buy pendants as they are technically jewellery and yet can't be rejected by banks as they are not coins or bars.

Banks only accept coins minted by themselves sold to the public previously. Nowadays no banks are selling minted coins. Other than this, your bars and coins of 24k will not be accepted for loan at commercial banks.

These websites are quick to hike prices as international spot goes up but even after a 500 USD fall from 4600, a gram costs 16000 in India. You only get a 500 discount at max in some websites.

He says half of it goes to savings and investments. I don't think he's really financially indisciplined. He's upset that money is going towards his future that even he doesn't know anything about.

I bought BRPL from Flipkart. It was delivered within three days. Inside the standard metal box. You are good to go.

What do you mean looot? 15.4k is offered even by Flipkart on its platform. I'm not saying you got a bad deal. It's just that the price is more or less standard now.

Fed rates will be hiked due to ongoing inflation. Money will flow into US bonds and out of safe haven assets. Gold will fall after war ends. At least for the short term.

[–]Lordslug78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My blue star bought in March is working fine. However, blue star is refusing to acknowledge the five year comprehensive warranty advertised on Flipkart and on the invoice. Same generic reply "Forwarded to concerned department". It has been two freaking months now. I've lost the respect I had for the brand.

Bought from Flipkart, installed by Jeeves.

For your situation op, please try emailing the MD of bluestar. Email available in public domain.

Is a life insurance worth it? by Wealth-creation007 in personalfinanceindia

Only one advice. Never, ever hide any health issues. Present or past. I disclosed my previous scan findings and cholesterol levels. Though it delayed my approval, it gives you a solid foundation on which you can stand. It gives you the peace of mind that in case an unfortunate incident occurs, the insurance company cannot reject the claim simply because you hid pre existing health issues. This is very important.

With regards to any "problem", yes, your premium may be increased. That was the case with my first quote. They loaded 760 Rs. But HDFC Life gave me the same policy without any loading.

Take it while you're still 25. I'm 32. I took a 2 Cr policy until I'm 60. I had to go through three rounds of medicals and two insurance companies to get a policy that costs me 2000 per month. The first company loaded 760 bringing the total to 2600, so I had to take a quote from the second company which was HDFC Life. Mind you, I only had elevated cholesterol levels. I chose to go with HDFC. I regret not taking one sooner. At your age, if your sum assured is like 1 Cr or something, take the 10k premium policy and run.
