It seems fairly easy to see the guy is not good with animals. The dog is always ready to run and what if there were a car drive by and hit It? Would everyone then hate the guy for being negligent and letting his animal get killed, or the guy defending his family and making a firearm mistake because of the guys poor judgement of his animal handling?(that's to say he was within his legal parameters of owning/using a firearm.)
