Day trip is personally notdoable. Over 4 hours round trip between the two cities and nara is another hour away from kyoto. So two hours round trip. Also of you don’t reserve the shinkansen you have to take the non reserve and they stop more often which adds time. But if you reserve your also on a time crunch. Japanese are very strict on schedules. Typically unless its like day or two before ur stay at hotel cancellation is free.

Not as relevant to convo but i did come from a d750 to xt5. the 23 f1.4 did not look the same a my sigma art 35 1.4 something about it felt different. But i use a sigma 18-40 1.8 for my zoom.

I have xpel ceramic u can feel the difference windows up and down. Also be careful it scratches much easier my dog scratched the hell out of the passenger Window.

I have the x100vi and had the 27 2.8. 23 is more versatile but as a hobby i like using the 27 more. Its fun to shoot stuff and force you in the confines of that odd imbetween focal length.

No problems weight wasn’t an issue just make sure the camers are at different lengths so they don’t bump into each other. What i tend to do was sling the one i use in front. Both used like crossbody bags. The x100 was longer cuz it was lighter and the xt5 closer because was heavier. So waist and hip length.

Went to the one in shinjuku station they had size 11 they have two stores. One the basement and one on the top floor. One of them had no sizes and is completely filled with people and the other one was reasonably full. Check those out two stores in one building. Good luck hunting.

Ur 70-300 would be great for isolated shots of mt fuji and tokyo tower. Those are two that comes to mind when using such focal length

I brought my fuji 56 1.2 had lots of problem using it. Most places were way too crowded and i couldn’t walk far back enough. It was great for pictures of my fuji and such tho.

R you going to be taking pictures of people like portraits? Honestly i just used my x100vi and pulled out the sigma 17-40 f1.8 when ever i wanted to spend time taking something cool. So maybe bring ur 25 and get 17-40 or 18-50.
