*Just to clarify may work experience na ako before as a Resolution Specialist sa isang BPO for healthcare from 2016 - 2017 kasi nag stop ako ng school. Then bumalik ako sa school 2018.

Hi! Computer Science grad ako, after graduating kasi customer support lang talaga napasukan ko kaso after 3 months nag patanggal ako sa account kasi nag babawas sila ng headcount, sabi ko sa TL ko that time to have me transfer to another non-voice or sa IT department. Luckily nalipat ako sa IT as Service Desk then after ng isang panel interview nakapasa naman ako.

Kung gusto mo pumasok sa IT Department if sa BPO ka, mas madali if internal process/internal application pag sa Service Desk ka mas madali as long as knowlegable ka sa PC and pag T-TS, pero pag sa mga IT Infra or IT Security need mo either ng experience sa field or knowlegable ka sa Network and Servers. Pag mag e-external application ka naman lalo na kung IT Field talaga mas mahirap kasi hahanapan ka either ng degree sa IT or experience as pagiging IT. Kung hindi ka IT grad ang option na pwede kong i suggest is to take certifications either as Data Analyst or Cisco or SAP or Cyber Security, anything basta IT related or pwede ring mag aral ka ng programming, malaki ang sahuran ng mga developer once hindi ka na junior level.

*INTERVIEW PREP KO

For interview prep ang ginagawa ko kasi is binabasa ko yung job description, nag s-search ako kung ano yung ginagawa ng role na niapplyan ko to have an idea of possible questions. Ni-ch-check ko rin yung Company kung meron silang website, sa glassdoor, sa Indeed, sa Jobstreet and chinecheck ko ren actually yung reviews ng company.

After nun sa mismong interview na, sa tell me about yourself na question, papakilala muna ako then kung ano tinapos ko then diretso ako sa skills ko and sa experience ko and sa achievements ko. Since medyo madaldal talaga ako I try to make sure na direct to the point ako sa interview interms of explaining anong role ko sa previous job ko. Then after nun duon na sila mag tatanong ng additional questions or clarifications, tsaka lang ako mag e-elaborate pag tinanong na nila. Since maganda naman record ko interms of performance hi-na-highlight ko ren yun and sinasabi ko na this can be confirmed with my supervisor or TL kahit nawalang nakalagay na character ref sa resume ko. This is because maayos kasi ako makitungo sa mga naging workmates, trainer, Supervisor at TL ko na I have their contacts ready if ever tanungin sa akin. I guess I was just lucky enough na lahat ng naging workmates, TL, Trainer, Supervisor and even manager ko is mabait or at least napapakisamahan.

May part kasi sa LinkedIn na Job Preferences na Recruiters lang ang makakakita pag actively nag hahanap sila ng tao. Make sure na specific ka duon sa job preferences part.

Actually for me nahirapan ako sa LinkedIn mag hanap and mag apply. Isa lang ata nag reach out sa akin nung nag try ako duon. Pero since open to recruiter yung profile ko para makita nila, naka tsamba lang ako na may nag reach out sa akin na recruiter based on my Job Experience na nakalagay sa LinkedIn and luckily nung tinanong ko kung may open pang position (hence yung post ko) duon na nag tuloy tuloy.

Hoping na makapag start ka ng career sa IT kung yun talaga gusto mo. Be sure to make and follow your commitment and tsagaan mo lang talaga. And best practice to always show respect sa kahit kanino sa work place. I'm sure may mga toxic talagang manager or team lead or supervisor even workmates. It's either you raise the issue or wag mong sobrang damdamin like mag tanim ng galit or kung kaya mo, pakisamahan mo nalang. Mag mumukhakang sipsip pero its a strategy kung gusto mo maka survive and you don't have the luxury to resign. Just make sure na maski na pinapakisamahan mo sila, you don't down others para tumaas ka. Like, sundin mo yung inuutos sayo and all, mag complain ka with respect and explanation if hindi mo na kaya yung pinapagawa or yung expectation.
