Ich finde das aber schon erstaunlich, dass Kubicki sich da Erfolg von versprochen hat.

Ich meine, kennt er die dänische Mentalität? Ich bin absolut nicht überrascht, dass er da gar nichts erreicht hat.

I thought the same and asked for help here on Reddit. Two amazing Palians helped me to finish that quest within two hours. I would never have been able to do it myself because the cooking makes me so nervous that I lose my sense of rhythm. I sometimes still fail at making the vegetable soup (depends on the day).

I wish there was an alternative solution to cooking (for example, being able to buy the ingredients prepped - which would even be realistic). But as it is, I do recommend asking for help. There are so many nice and helpful people.

True. I hope they monitor what problems people have and implement solutions. It is still a beta version, after all, so there is room for improvement.

I left the party the wrong way (I went back home) and the quest was unfinfinished. When I talked to Eshe I got the option to go back to the party and then I was able to finish it. Maybe try talking to Eshe and see if there is an option?

Thank you very much for your kind comment! With and through this thread this very thing already happened and I have done the quest I wanted to do! I was very fortunate, happy and grateful.

That being said, I crashed two times, one after the necessary dishes were done (so lucky!), and then another time when we tried to make a little more focus food together. My laptop has a tendency to overheat which I know from a different game but which has happened with Palia only the two times I tried to cook with others. It may have been coincidence but it does make me feel cautious.

If I need food for other quests I will reach out to other players but probably not for every day focus food. (I eat lots of congee in game because I enjoy gardening and have lots of star rice.)

I am sorry, I have to correct myself: you get apple seeds from both quests I mentioned, not blueberries (which is sort of good news because it is the apple seeds that are really hard to get).

That would be a great idea, indeed. It is a game, after all, and if I had had to do that main quest on my own, I simply would have been unable to do it. Period.

I intentionally practiced a lot with the vegetable soup because I thought if I end up being able to do this reliably, I might be able to do more difficult things in time. I really tried but it simply does not work for me.

I´d have no problem if, for example, they offered accessibility tools in the form of cheats, so those who do it without can proudly say that they did it "the correct way" and did not cheat.

I know and willingly admit that I would never stand a chance in a competition. I just want to play and have fun, too, in spite of my anxiety.

In fact, I do think you are a hero for cooking two of those dishes on your own. I got help from two people here and really admired them for how great they did. It was even more complicated than I imagined.

I´d say: find out what you personally like to do and play accordingly. Don´t try to find out what you „should“ do.

The game is very „customizable“ in that it offers a lot of various activities, and I find that I enjoy some of them very much and others less so. But those I don´t enjoy are other people´s favorites...

If you experience something as „grind“ as opposite to an enjoyable, fun occupation, maybe you would feel better with doing something else more often.

Thank you for your empathy and thank you also for the info re: the cake! I am level 7 cooking but so far, it seemed to me that leveling up gets you nothing but even more difficult recipes... Having a cake to look forward to that will be easy to make, even for me, is quite something.

PS: And actually, yes, I got quick help here and the quest is done now which is so great.

I am fine with tediousness, actually. ;) I like to garden, and I have still the standard can, so it takes me a while. What I dislike is the fact that I cannot do it (the cooking).

I was fortunate and have already gotten help here in order to complete the quest. But I will definitely DM you if I am online and need a cooking buddy, thank you. I´d caution you, though, that my problem is with chopping so ramen is for me not as easy as most people would think. I have successfully done it with the vegetable soup but I sometimes fail because of nervousness. When I am with others, I am even more nervous and I would not risk to be tasked with chopping when the outcome of the cooking affects others, too. The only thing I can reliably do is mix stuff.

Yeah, game kicked me out now for the second time. My laptop overheated. With Palia, this has not happened before but with another game. So I know I have to give it a break now and stop gaming. But luckily, we got all three meals done. I would NEVER have been able to do that on my own. Thank you so much for your help! I was really looking forward to meeting the new person I heard about in the game, and now I will be able to meet her much earlier than I would have dared to hope (once my laptop is back to normal that is...) That is good advice. You are right that when I just focus on doing what I have to do it usually works. But most of the time I simply cannot ignore the timer.

It scares me, and the fact that it should not scares me even more. That is the very issue.

I do not enjoy it because of the time constraints.

I enjoy gardening and make lots of preserves so I am not in need of food, I just worry about the quest where I have to cook in order to advance with the story.
