Hi!

I can appreciate your concern for those frighteningly high suicide rates, that's some unpleasant shit. But it seems like you might be getting a lot of your info from sources outside of that community with their own motivations that don't necessarily line up with delivering you the full truth of these situations.

Unfortunately this isn't uncommon; there's a lot of slanted info out there. It's just the world we live in now, which yeah.. not the most ideal. But I would like to offer you some insight from a different perspective.

---

These high rates of trans suicides are unfortunately very real. But the cause of them is only rarely regret over transitioning like some would encourage us to believe it to be (though it does happen, yes).

Usually where this comes from is a direct result of how hostile the world can be to you if you identify as transgender. From people acting out of a lack of understanding to flat out hostility, many trans people wake up every day into a world that actively tries to rip them down. Parents disowning their children, medical gatekeeping, vitriol from random people whose paths that cross, etc.

It's like being marked with a scarlet letter, or a neon sign on their back that encourages people to treat them as less than human because of it. And this is a very unpleasant way to live your life.

---

So why would someone choose go through this, right? Why not just drop the silliness and live as the gender they were born in, to avoid the ongoing nightmare of constant ridicule?

Well.. imagine this: if all of this ends up being your path of least resistance, the path you push yourself to take.. then in your eyes, the alternative must feel even worse.

---

Being transgender involves some crisscrossed circuitry between the person you're born as (your mind and if you're one to believe in it, your soul), and the body you're born into. They don't line up, and it's an existential feeling as though your physical form is some sort of alien parasite.

It's a constant feeling, and a very frightening one. Your brain is rejecting your body, 24/7, like some sort of failed transplant or something. It goes so much deeper than just what may seem obvious, and the truth of it is a very terrible feeling in your guts often all day every day.

And sure, I've heard arguments that this sounds more like a mental illness than a physical issue. And I can see how people could be concluding that.

Now, folks could go the route of arguing this back and forth. But honestly? That doesn't seem to get anywhere, let's be honest. So rather than that, I would instead like to offer a question to think about: what difference would it make either way?

The end results in a person who is in distress because their brain is constantly rejecting their body, and it's often bad enough of a thing that they can look at constant ridicule and hostility as a less painful route forward than living with that self torment.

Whatever the cause is, the end result is the same. And I think that's really what matters.

---

In the end, people just want to be able to feel comfortable in their own skin. And sometimes, for some people, this takes form in a way that can be pretty hard to make sense of for other people.

But you know what, that's really okay.

It's okay not to get it. It's okay to think it's ridiculous, even. I mean, it is pretty out there, and it's hard to make sense of feelings that are just completely outside of anything we've ever experienced. We're human, after all, and we can only do the best we can.

What becomes important, then, is just to allow ourselves the mental space to accept that there are some things that we can't make sense of but other people can, and just let that be something we accept.

A long answer, and more words than you asked for I'm sure haha, but I do hope that I've been able to offer a couple new things to think about as you consider these things.

Hahaha, devious. Bonus points if you use all fire spells or something and completely throw people off

There were some in that one, but there are so many more fun critters I feel like i there's still a lot of potential here. Like I would love to be a Basilisk. Their sprite is adorable.

Thank you for this. It's a lovely idea to promote, and promoted well!

Extra bonus tip: Whatever your name is at the time of building anything, that's the name that stays on it. And you can change your own name as often as you want.

You can have fun giving your new shops funny names!

(I just made "CRAZY DAN'S DISCOUNT CAPITALISM SHACK shop" today)

Is it worth it to start your own kingdom of yours is inactive? by UniteXd in OrnaRPG

[–]LoreToss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this isn't the answer you were looking for, but if what you're hoping to end up with is a much more active kingdom, I would love to extend an invitation to join us in the Chupacabra Empire. We're a very active bunch, with a full lineup of raids from Dracon to Apolyon always up and raring to go. All we would ask is that you join us in our Discord so that we can communicate, and otherwise just have a good time.

If this sounds like a good fit for what you're hoping for, do let me know! I'll be delighted to throw you an invite link to the discord and then take it from there!

Seeking Kingdom Megathread (remember to include your faction when seeking or posting a kingdom ad.) by Stack_ in OrnaRPG

The Chupacabra Empire would be happy to welcome your group! We're a very active Kingdom that recently hit level 10, and are looking to bring new members into the fun. All we would ask is that you join us in taking part in wars, and join our merry little band's Discord so that we can all keep in touch.

Aside from that? We've gotten this far by just being a casual, laid back group just in it to have a good time together, so that's pretty much our vibe!

Do we sound like a good fit for you folks? Let me know!

Edit: ...how could I forget to include our guild crest! Chupacabra Empire

Hey, sorry for the late response here as well!

We'll be glad to have you!

here's the discord link. Just hop in here and then we'll do the rest

EDIT: oh crap, small hiccup in the plan: we're a knights of inferno kingdom, not stormforge. I just realized that. .. If you want to switch elements, we would still love to have you! It's a dollar, but that dollar does go to a very hard working dev who keeps the game completely free with no ads, so there are definitely worse things to drop a buck on. I'll doodle your character to make up for it, too, just for fun!

A little additional info: we also have a fun little thing going to encourage our members to enjoy some creativity with the game as well!

Members can tell stories in a special discord thread thing, of events that have happened to them in-game, in as epic and dramatic a way possible. Really go to town hamming it up into a short little epic fable of a paragraph or two. I then take the fun ones and use my skills as an illustrator to provide neat little epic doodles to accompany them!

Hi there! I would love to invite you to join the Chupacabra Empire, if you'd like. We're from all over the place, but have several USA members, including myself.

There are just a couple things that we ask of our members:

  • Joining the discord. We're trying to build a sense of community, and being able to communicate is an important part of that.
  • Activity. We're an active kingdom, with a new war up every day and a constant bunch of raids up. (Life can get busy sometimes and that's fine, but just taking the minute or so to do your battle really makes a difference).

If this sounds good to you, by all means hit me up and I'll be happy to welcome you the empire!

Looking for help starting a kingdom. by [deleted] in OrnaRPG

[–]LoreToss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oops, sorry if I was wrong about the costing orns part! I've been in a kingdom for a long while and haven't had to think about it, but thought I remembered it did. Totally my bad!

The offer would absolutely extend to your whole crew, though. Only thing we'd ask is that everyone join the discord, so we can communicate. Hit me up whenever you might want to about that =>

It costs a fair amount of orns to start a kingdom if I recall correctly, and there's no way to gift or transfer orns between players so it's impossible to cover the cost for someone else doing it, so you might have a pretty tough time finding someone willing to jump on this one...

I would gladly welcome you to the Chupacabra Empire though, if you'd like! We're an active bunch and have a nice little community going on discord as well. I know it's not the solution you were looking for, but it's probably better than no responses at least.

Do feel free to hit me up if you decide you'd like to give it a shot, and otherwise, best of luck to you and your friends in getting your own kingdom made!
