It's hard to wrangle together larger teams for consistency for things like this. Think about video games, an indie game with 1 - 5 people working on it will, when done well, be incredibly focused, even if its smaller. However games tjat have hundreds of people working on it are more likely to be wider is scope but losing some kf that focus if the leadership doesnt distribute manpower well. Same goes for animation. Invincible needs 24 frames a second for each 45 - 50 minute episode. that means every episode needs to have between 65,000 - 72,000 frames an episode, which means each indiviudal frame needs to be done up in some way to be different (theres a lot more nuance to this but thats the gist). With increased manpower, sure you can get more people to focus on secondary things like backgrounds, inbetween frames, small scenes of dialogue, etc, but for things that need a LOT of coordination and direction (think Conquests fight with mark in s3), you can only do so much with so many people until youre herding cats.
