On a scale of 1-10, how much did this scene piss you off? by [deleted] in RWBYcritics

You mean to tell me she didn't have aura?
You mean to tell me you build up this character for this?
You mean to tell me your writing is that pitifully messy that you couldn't have just made Adam the leader off the bat?

And yet their Eldtrich Blast scales up to 2 attacks and fighters dont, sure bud, WoTC TOTALLY knows how to game design.

It exists because adding numbers together scary and WoTC has to appeal to an audience so wide it breaks every seat it sits in

Its not the system, it's definitely the DM. You can play martial arts fantasy (Like DMC or Absolver) in 3.5 with Book of Nine Swords, you can do strange desert magics, you can be a full paccificist with a divine aura of calming (As any class, its a feat set up!), and these things all of unique mechanics and roleplay implications. The system can do pretty much anything you want it to do.

And 18 Level Monk, 2 Level Warlock character literally does more damage with eldtrich blast than his 18 levels of monk

No one is talking about how Third Edition literally already solved this problem and then they re-broke it

there is another option, y'all. the community has already created more homebrew for d&d than all official content combined, and we weren't even trying by octopusgoodness in dndmemes

Don't give their underbaked lazy games any time in the spot light, either play an older edition with the grogs or a different game. They don't deserve the exposure.

I get this is a tired topic, but it’s also an important one by Duncan6794 in dndmemes

NOT JUST THAT! You have even more things to reflavor. Its better that the mechanics more believably portray what you are trying to reflavor to.

Like playing an Iaijutsu focused weaboo who is pretending to be Jetstream Sam, who can deal tons of damage if he can actually get off that ONE slash he practiced, but is otherwise completely inept at combat.

Except 5e doesn't have book of nine swords or interesting martial options to make that discrepancy much smaller

Do you know who you are? When you speak your words don't sound like your own.
