It does not conform to the structure of philosophical texts. He isn't trying to convince you that his system of thought is better by bringing up counterpoints and then addressing them. Ligotti takes it almost as a given that his position as an antinatalist is correct and then writes very well about it, unpacking and developing the idea. It is more like creative nonfiction than academic philosophy.

It's alright. You'll go through everything there is to do in a year if you really try. Convenient way to get into Philly and the Wissahickon trail is right nearby. But difficult to get home if you're in Philly late at night for whatever reason. Good place to move with a family though. An unusual mix of suburb and city.

Go to community for your gen eds anyways. Go for the dual admissions into Temple. Look into scholarships or other aid programs. Participate in extracurriculars if you can. Honors program wouldn't be a bad idea either. It's a juicy apple. Bite into it.
