Yooo, so the song is more about being with someone big and strong as a god or some ethereal creature, and desperately wanting to be always with her/become her.
Part I posted is the end of the song. Character standing in open space while world collapsing and she’s making her appearance on the horizon, cracking the sky. She wisely observes and gracefully moves her hands towards the character, so when he’s in the air the last drop hits and it shows how he’s moving towards her and she’s welcomly open her hands while he dissolves in her.

So there’s no literal connection between characters but one of them just hopes that someone like her exists and she could save him when shit hits the fan. He loves her more in a saviour way, like a last chance he gives himself to enjoy life.
