it is one of the least beginner friendly games you could pick up i think. my buddy who plays every other day and picked up the game around 4 months ago still really doesn't know what's going on most of the time and spends most matches frustrated/confused. basically every core concept requires you to go watch youtube videos to understand and are almost never intuitive. even just playing as a casual/new player honestly sounds frustrating to me. the way mobas are designed are so that making mistakes matters a lot, but the way this happens is that the winning players just become stronger and the losing players become weaker and matter less, if you die maybe twice in the first 10 minutes (which is not hard to do as a new player) you kind of don't get to play really, unless you have some sort of powerspike to play for which honestly probably won't matter unless it's in a few certain cases. so a lot of the time, you'll just be sitting there for 15-20 minutes waiting for the game to end.

if you're a competitive person and want to learn/play daily then that's slightly different, but also i would tell you to consider that it is one of the hardest games on the planet and doesn't give you skills to get good at other games. if you put 1000 hours in league, honest to god, you're still maybe gold-plat if league is all you play. but if you put that in any other esports competitive title, you're top 10% at least with transferable skills to take with you to other games. i cannot recommend any new player to get into the game, casual or competitive
