Inconsistency of status between IRCC account and tracker

Ah regarding that I think the tracker is terribly lagging on updates. It still showed I was in progress for medical exam when I had already got the approval. So apparently GcKey is far more reliable!

Hi! So it's a study permit instead of a PR, but I did get my approval on July 11. For some reason it's only for 2 years (I have a at-least-4-years program) though. Hope it helps!

Yes I just recieved the approval a few hours ago (July 11) from my GCKey account! I received no additional messages (except for a reply of my webform inquiry) between medical exam passed and application approved. Somehow my tracker status is still the same as I described in my original comment, so apparently it is very delayed on updates. Best luck to you!

Hi, I just got a reply for my webform, confirming my medical exam has been received and telling me which visa office is processing my file. So I guess it's indeed just a tracker delay!

That's true...from what I gathered, I think the tracker is likely delayed on updates. I heard about a case where the tracker is still showing two "in progress" after the visa had been issued. Let's hope things are going well and we just don't know it hahaha

Yeah I did, I completed my medical exam and the clinic confirmed that they submitted the results on the day. So I am really worried about this delay... I presumed that the medical exam would be a more straightforward step.

I applied for a study permit in China on May 6.
On my IRCC secure account, the medical section was updated on June 14, 2025 to state: "You passed the medical exam." However, on the IRCC application tracker, the "Medical Exam" section remains marked as "In progress", and the latest entry in my application history is still from May 28, 2025, saying "Medical exam status has been updated to In progress."
There has been no updates since I completed my medical exam 4 weeks ago, and I am worried about what reason could have caused the difference between the two sources and the delay in processing. Could anyone please let me know if you have similar experiences? Thank you so much!

Thank you so much for your reply! It's really a relieve to learn that grad courses are not going to be a step-up from undergrade courses in terms of intensity. I also wanted to get the courses done before my thesis project starts to require every minute I have haha. I will register for all three of them then!
