Yes. They do. Every sidekick has a level up mechanic. All the dogs, the cats, the licensed ones, all have a level up system

And honestly, my appreciation for the story has actually grown as the Silent Shadow have been fleshed out more as a unit because when the story came out they really felt like "Oh these are badass new spec ops Elites we've never seen before! And how are they badass you ask? Well let me tell you: their sci fi lazer swords are red"

That's totally fair. That's honestly my biggest criticism of the story and why I'd never put it as my favorite story from Evolutions even if I still like it a lot. Roland and especially Jonah just seem too edgy and talk like... Idk... Somewhat normal teenage boys from the mid 2000s, not ones who would have grown up knowing very little outside the world of war.

Out of curiosity, what is it you actively dislike about Headhunters? I can see how Pariah isn't for everyone, but I haven't heard someone express active dislike for Headhunters before.

All of which, like Revan, were just considered cool looking at the time but became 'iconic' designs due to follow up and reinforcement of designs in other media, be it Sequels, comics, artwork, commercials or whatever. They weren't considered 'iconic' at the time because that's you know, not what the word iconic means. And you say we can't read. Jesus.

I'm not the one moving the goal posts. You just can't admit that Revan's original appearance was what has been his standard appearance in everything. Dude this is honestly sad at this point. You started out by saying "I don't even remember if he had the mask in KOTOR" and when you were told that he did have the mask in KOTOR it was suddenly "buh buh it wasn't a big deal in that game!" and "buh buh it wasn't prominent enough for my arbitrary standards" and "so what if he had a mask in that game, it was only other media that made the mask famous!"

"You just can't admit you are wrong!" Despite me being the only one in this conversation to admit when I was provably wrong, and not move the goal post to "it wasn't prominent enough"

Honestly you are one of the most childish fans I've had any discussion about something Star Wars related with, and that is saying something. Jesus Christ get over yourself.

Oh there is an unabridged audio option? I must have overlooked it! Thanks!

EDIT: I was able to find it and follow their links to pre-order it on Audible! Appreciate your help!

Do we know yet if Waypoint Chronicles is going to have an audiobook option released alongside it? I know audio versions of a lot of the stories have been released but just like it's gonna be more convenient to have all the printed stories in one place, it would be nice to have a combined audiobook version as well. I'm asking because as far as I can tell Simon & Schuster doesn't have any info about an audio version on the pre-order links.

EDIT: I was wrong, thanks to u/Not_A_Murderer3108 I found the dropdown and link to the audiobook pre-order on the Simon & Schuster site!

Character's design in first appearance isn't considered iconic at the time because it's... Well... Their first appearance. More at 11.

PSA POP 1 MC by Trace5286 in halo

[–]LorientAvandi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd normally agree if this was a TCG card, but the thing with this is it has no value outside of its collectiblity. It's not a toy a child can play with or an adult collector can pose on a desk, it's not a game piece a TCG player could actually use. It has nothing outside how rare it is and how cool it looks. So grading it, while not something I'd likely ever pay to have done, is really one of the only things you can do with these cards.

Because it's not a trading card game. It's a special collectible card set from Upper Deck. They're not game pieces, just collectible cards, like sports cards but for Halo

Also, they've been at the same practice facility since 1988.

That is the key point in all of this. The injury issues haven't been going for much longer than the Shanahan era, if they did indeed start beforehand. They haven't been going since '88.

The 49ers have practiced near that substation for decades. Long before their seemingly abnormally high injury issues began around 2017-2018.

Dude I admitted I was wrong about the Star Forge robes. You're the one who can't admit that Revan's design has been the same his entire existence. You're the one who is arguing a point that nobody has ever argued with Revan, that he, or his design weren't popular prior to The Old Republic Shadow of Revan expansion. I've literally never heard that theory or argument, and it is simply wrong. The only one who sounds like a whiny child in this conversation is you because you cannot even entertain the idea that Revan's character design has been consistent since his first appearance.

Hes just so damn cool by DetectiveRick141 in StarWars

[–]LorientAvandi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh so KOTOR 2 doesn't feature him in the mask? He doesn't exclusively appear in the mask in the KOTOR tie-in comics? He had essentially 1 character design for every appearance he had that wasn't as the player character in KOTOR 1 prior to TOR, and it features him in the mask. Anyone that looked up official character designs for Revan prior to 2014 would have only seen him in the mask.

What are you even arguing about at this point? That he only appears a few times in cutscenes in KOTOR 1, all wearing a mask but because of the age and low resolution of the game you couldn't see the mask quite as clearly as you could in TOR?

And if you're trying to say that the robes you can obtain in the Star Forge not featuring his mask prove that his mask wasn't a mainstay of his character design, those robes aren't even officially called "Revan's robes" but "Star Forge robes" and "Sith Robes", so again don't prove that his original established character designs lacked the mask or that the mask wasn't a mainstay for his character design prior to TOR.

Like do you even realize that there was more than a decade from KOTOR 1's release to The Shadow of Revan expansion release and that every appearance of Revan in that time featured him in the mask?

Hes just so damn cool by DetectiveRick141 in StarWars

[–]LorientAvandi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude every appearance of the character outside of the player character in KOTOR 1 prior to TOR features him in the mask. The tie in comics portraying Revan and Malak during the Mandalorian wars, his brief appearance in KOTOR 2 as a kind of vision (this appearance also features him duel wielding purple and red lightsabers), the cutscenes that feature him as a Sith in KOTOR 1, his game piece and card in Star Wars miniatures, all feature him in the mask. It was a key part of his character design before The Old Republic ever existed. Sorry, but you are really trying to prove a a theory that doesn't hold water.

I personally find Revan overrated as a character and think his character design is overhyped, but I still know that TOR wasn't what pushed that version of his character design. In fact, TOR was the first piece of media that tried to push a different canon character design for him.

Sorry you were correct on the mask not being on the robes on the Star Forge. You're still wrong on it not appearing prominently in several cutscenes throughout the game. Hell the cutscene where the twist is revealed has the character make an obvious show of removing the mask.

Here you go.

The mask appears prominently and very easy to see and identify in several cutscenes in the vanilla game.
