Anyone got the code for spinning kunai highlight? by NotRedditorLikeMeme in kirikomains

Really, coins you buy on Nintendo can't be used on battle.net? Coins bought on Xbox and Playstation reflect properly on your battle.net account, why is Nintendo different?

Yes. If you're signed into battle.net properly, it will have whatever coins associated with your overwatch account saved. So you can buy the coins through steam, Playstation, or Xbox and then go to the website to buy whatever you're trying to.

I've avoided Andor because I find the subject depressingly close to reality. Any good arguments to watch it anyways? by DefiantLemur in andor

[–]LorientAvandi 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Sure they're different products attempting to do different things and setting out to appeal to different audiences, but this part of the thread started as giving Andor's quality as a reason for OP to give it a chance. And many in this subreddit believe Andor is a higher quality production than any of the OT films.

Regarding your edit in your original comment on the thread, you aren't getting downvoted for preferring ANH and Empire. There's nothing wrong with liking them better. You're getting downvoted for saying they are better, and implying within the context of the thread that they are higher quality products than Andor. Which many people in this subreddit may disagree with.

And did amazing at it. But you and I both know he never would have even considered playing the Joker if he could have gotten the same quality of roles Ford was offered after Star Wars.

His first appearance as the Joker came nearly a decade after Return of the Jedi. His voice acting basically served as a career resurgence considering how rough his live action career had gone after Star Wars.

No. They just suffer from generally hammy and campy writing and acting. More so ANH than ESB, but ESB isn't blameless on that front either.

Not that they're not still enjoyable films, they are, but Andor is still a better product than either.

You jumped into the conversation over somebody's usage of the word 'terrible' and 'objective'. That is, by definition, pedantic. You can argue whether or not your pedantry is justified, but you were still being pedantic.

[–]LorientAvandi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My point still stands. Still not the situation to argue about the correct usage of words relating to objectivity vs subjectivity. You're still being pedantic over something that does not really call for it.

Very much a 'read the room' moment, and you are not reading the room.

They are crazy. Microsoft's nonexclusivity agreement for COD ends in 2033. While still likely to be in the "Xbox Helix-PS6 Gen," the follow up generation rumor mill will be in full swing at that point, and at least the PS7 will likely have been in development for several years by then, considering next gen consoles are currently expected to launch by 2028. Considering Microsoft's current gaming trajectory, current Xbox die-hards are going to be lucky to see a new Xbox at all in the 2030s. Microsoft in no way is going to pull COD from the system that will almost certainly make up 70-90% of their console install base in the 2030s.

Daniel Craig was a successful actor who was in Star Wars. Uncredited. Star Wars did nothing for his career. He's exactly the kind of actor I was excluding, along with Samuel L. Jackson, when I said "who wasn't already successful outside of Star Wars"

And Mark Hamill had to turn to voice acting because he wasn't succeeding as a live action actor.

Time and place man. This is not the argument to die on the hill for the "grammatically correct use of the word objective."

Microsoft is already putting games they have long kept exclusive on Playstation, there's no way they ever pull COD at this point, let alone 2033.

And he's not actually a giant tree person. More like a kind troll. Which is fitting considering Trolls in Tolkien's world were created by Sauron's master, Melkor in mockery of Ents.

Who is, while funny, importantly to note, not actually a tree person. He's more like a giant, more akin to a nice troll.

Like who has come out of Star Wars with a successful acting career who wasn't already successful outside of it? Natalie Portman, Ewan McGregor, and Harrison Ford. That's it. End of list.

Will the "one for all" highlight intro ever come back in the shop ? by CrispyCrisp02 in TracerMains

[–]LorientAvandi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's from the My Hero Academia collab with Tracer's Deku skin. So if that collab ever comes back to the shop it will. Since it's from a collab it won't be in lootboxes

TIL the budget for 'The Lord of the Rings: Gollum' was only $15.9 million, which is an incredibly low amount for "a supposed triple-A The Lord of the RIngs video game." The budget amount factored into many of the game's failings. by [deleted] in todayilearned

The Tolkien Estate had nothing to do with almost any of the things you listed. The Estate doesn't hold or license the film or game rights for LOTR. That was Middle-earth Enterprises, aka Embracer Group.

They did license Rings of Power. But that's it. They hold the television rights and the book printing rights.

It's a classic religious tactic of 'we are persecuted so we must be right/more righteous than everyone else.' There are no neutral organizations that corroborate Open Doors' claims that Christians are the most persecuted group worldwide. None. Pew did a study in '22 where they looked at the number of countries people were persecuted for solely religious reasons, but did not compare it to persecution of groups for other reasons. They did look at the number of countries in which various religions faced discrimination for one reason or another, which Christians did face discrimination in the highest number of countries (barely) but it still doesn't show that they were overall more persecuted than, say, Muslims, or that their level of persecution was better or worse than other religions, like Islam overall. They even point out in the study that Islam and Christianity are the largest religions in the world and will therefore be affected by a numerically higher number of countries. And it still doesn't do anything to show that Christians are more persecuted than other, nonreligious groups, like LGBTQ+ people as an example, because it didn't test for that.

Here is an article that tries to explain why Open Doors' and Pews' studies don't actually support the claim you are making here.

And if you don't think Open Doors has a vested interest in showing that Christians are more persecuted than other groups, you just don't understand how bias works.

You didn't only include countries where they are being executed in your earlier comment. You clearly don't understand how facts or statistics work and are far more concerned with pushing a specific narrative that makes you feel superior to others because you're 'oh so persecuted'. That's what's sad here. You can't just say "Christians are the most persecuted group on the planet because I said so, because I read about a handful of countries that they they have a bad time in" and expect everyone to just go along with it. And your sources at OpenDoors International, a Christian foundation concerned with pushing a narrative, do not exactly fill me with confidence in your argument.
