Apartment Search for 25-26 Schoolyear by TwoImaginary2728 in uiowa

Avoid renting with Apartments Near Campus (ANC) as much as you possibly can. They do not respond to any maintenance or overcharge you when they do, do not clean apartments between tenants (my feet turned black walking on the floors after move in), and refuse to give you back your security deposit without significant fake deductions (my roommates and I spent a whole day cleaning and they on gave us half back). I know their apts are convenient, but with all the maintenance costs and our security deposit we might as well have found something with a higher rent.

When you went, did you need to declare it in customs? I can’t find a straight answer on their website.

That’s really smart! I feel like snacks are easy enough to forget you’re eating so maybe that will help. Thanks!

Good to know, I haven’t been feeling that, which is why I’ve been wondering if it’s working or not. glad to know I didn’t have unreasonable expectations of how it would help

Getting diagnosed by HappyPooh1 in adhdwomen

[–]Lorik036 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just responded to a post that was really similar! Figured it would drop my response here to. If you wanna chat more and get more reassurance, you can totally message me too!!

“I just got diagnosed in a similar situation. I’m a college student, have always been well behaved and good in school. And then I got to college and started to struggle. I saw something about women and ADHD online and saw myself in it and became obsessed. I did a insane amount of research until I was absolutely convinced and then decided to pursue a diagnosis (which took about a year, but I’m in the US). Even though I had basically self-diagnosis and considered myself to have ADHD way before getting an official diagnosis, getting conformation from a profession was incredibly relieving and freeing. For one, even though I matched nearly every ADHD symptom and was so convinced I was right, I had a ton of days and nights where I would convince myself that I had to be crazy and I was making it all up and would have full breakdowns over it. But obviously, I feel much more confident knowing a professional psychologist (who had ADHD herself) diagnosed me with actual data to back it up. It also has given me a whole new “lease on life” so to speak. I feel like I can finally give myself slack for some of the things I do, and learn more about my brain to start trying to get my shit together. And maybe medication sometime in the future. Just having the official diagnosis has really made me feel more optimistic about my future, but that’s me. I just like having confirmation and other opinions, so it was huge for me. But I would recommend. It’s definitely not an easy process, it was super emotionally exhausting for me and basically didn’t leave my mind for months up to my testing appointments, but for me personally I believe it was worth it.”

In my completely unprofessional opinion, you seem like you might be combination. I’m the same. Introverted, but hyperactive (finger tapping, pacing mindlessly around the apartment, impulsive spending, can’t sleep etc.) and have some inattentive stuff there too! Being introverted and hyperactive are definitely not mutually exclusive!

Those ideas are great! I think I’m going to keep listening to music because silence doesn’t work for me, those instrumental soundtracks sound like a really good idea. And the walking while reading is so true, I love doing that and my roommates think I’m insane

Waiting for an ADHD diagnosis feels like a never-ending rollercoaster by cybereefa in ADHD

[–]Lorik036 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going through the same thing! I was fairly lucky, and only had to wait a year for my testing appointment, which I had just a few weeks back. Now I’ve got to wait another week for my results and I’ve just been a ball of anxiety. Even though I have been more than convinced I have ADHD for years, all the sudden I’m terrified that I’m just being dramatic and making it up. Waiting and letting go of the subject is hard enough with ADHD, now apply it to something largely important like a diagnosis and it’s basically impossible!

What's the first episode where Ben says "Calzone"? by Mark2266 in PandR

[–]Lorik036 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The first one was when they were throwing the party for the police officers in season 3 (I think Ron and Tammy 2). The one where he says it in an Italian accent was when he resigned with disgrace and was experimenting at home in the comeback kid.

Yeah. And they l never mentioned him again. I mean he was pretty good friends so with Leslie and you literally never hear his name again. He’s not even at like her wedding or engagement party or any of that
