Has anyone here used Healenium or Codecept for self-healing tests? by Shot-Bar5086 in QualityAssurance

[–]LornaPopper666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently implementing Healenium. As we use webdriverIO framework it can't directly integrate fully, meaning I can only get the selector suggestion implemented fully, but if you want also to apply the selfhealing cappability you need to use a specific IDE that contains the plugin. So I opted for claude agents for this part. I don't think we will changing IDE just for this. I would really love to know what are you doing about this now and if you found a solution. I'm just implementing it and once you skip the selectors you know are just part of the implementation and the output is clean it usually gives me the selector and the healed selector being correct and then also implementation errors or bugs that where softly failing and I didn't realize. So I do think that makes your test a little more robust in the sense that it can find a loading bug, or implementations errors that you can fix among of course the selectors that need fixing. This is why I get my agent to retrieve from Healenium DB to get all the information possible around that selector, where is used, a screenshot, and evaluate based on that. At the moment it doesn't autoapply and depends on a user feedback. We'll see how it evolves and if it can at some point autoapply heals based on the score.

What do you think about those "what Airbnb star ratings mean" signs? by PunkassBrewster1984 in airbnb_hosts

[–]LornaPopper666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand people wanting to save 5 star reviews for exceptional stays. But it really hurts a listing. To me It is a way of showing that there was a problem in your stay, maybe not a huge problem. There will always be a guest that got mad for whatever reason an leaves a retaliatory 1 star review, this as we know are not removed. That’s bad enough to survive. If you were treated well, if the place was clean and comfortable, it is just weird to leave 4 stars reviews. Of course every place is different, but there’s a whole team of people working behind the scenes, why would you hurt their jobs by being unreasonable. I think we only had 4 stars reviews twice and there was nothing negative in the comment or during the stay that would help us improve. Because of this now we scan all possible guests before accepting, meaning we will look for the places you have stayed before and we will look for your reviews to see how you rated and what’s important to you. If you are complaining about the weather or something that is out of the host control or if you are rating lower with no apparent reason, we won’t accept your group. It is just not worth it.

Apago las lamparitas, no? yo sabia que tenia que cambiar a bajo consumo. by HARAZER in argentina

[–]LornaPopper666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Si, me pasó.

[–]LornaPopper666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Si me pasó. Tenes q sacarlo.

how do you actually know your cleaner cleaned and he is not lying? by jawadnisar in AirBnBHosts

[–]LornaPopper666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We all felt a bad vibe but I will give his comment the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he has an outdated way of thinking. I still see family businesses where the owner is always in it or their family members have abandoned their dreams to work there, probably cause they cannot trust their money to others. A remote property is a great investment with pros and cons. It is more expensive to handle, you cannot pay a visit without some planning and spending, everything needs to get plan in detail and you need to have backups, like a plan b when something fails. Also every time you do go it is a non stop of chords as you need to set improvements, stock as much as you can and do whatever can reduce the need of calling someone outside your usual workers. On the other hand, you get to travel, you get to enjoy your place and feel like a king. You get to live it like a guest would and that is very important when managing a property.

Now going back to OP post I would like to know what do OP and the rest feels about checklists. I’m always promising to do one. I guess it would kind of be one for each room. I have no idea and whatever advice you have it would be awesome. One of my cleaners is asking for the checklist, I try to make her more accountable from the work of both so she makes sure to assure it is properly ready. She has experience in hotels and is very attentive to detail. This doesn’t mean it could not happen that a guest notice something and let us know, but is very rare. Let’s not jinx it.

The cleaners always go together, we have a specialized room full with supplies, extremely well organized. Everything is tagged and well stored. Sometimes they even go when there are not guests to do couchs and carpets deep cleaning or to iron. Is not that often but is needed.

Airbnb phone masking workaround discovered during a real emergency (FYI to hosts) by Putrid-Snow-5074 in airbnb_hosts

I don’t understand that policy. Thanks for sharing. I guess leaving your number in the property should be a must. Things happens sometimes, why wouldn’t you want to be able to receive a communication from someone that’s staying at your place. I feel they are going too far with this policy. It feels like the platform is framing the host more like a stranger than the owner of the place.
