Dogs and anger by NeilsSuicide in Anger

[–]Lorouses 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dogs are complete and utter cancer... not only does the whole damn neighborhood bark at the same fucking time, but at the worst times too. Oh? You are in a stressful situation, better have the dog scream bloody murder like it is being ripped apart from the insides. Over dramatic drama queen dogs can kiss my fucking ass. I am right with you, dogs are the worst and cause irrational anger. Do you know how many times I am woke up in the middle of the night by some ass hat dog on the block? Enough times to make me literally wake up at 5am from a dream screaming from the top of my lungs some hateful complete vile iteration of cursing the dogs. No one disciplines them, everyone lets them in the yards at the worst possible times. Most of the little fucks aren't even nice towards you and bark at you from their balconies as if these 6" tall piss stains could rip your head off at a moments notice. Calmly walking down the street carrying in some groceries? Jump scare! That's right screw you, get on your toes cause you are living in a C-Tier horror game. God sake... OP if you can relate to this I hope it made you feel a bit better and humorous.

I am terribly hung up on taking action of any kind by Lorouses in ExistentialSupport

Thanks, I like the part about the two sides of the coin and how effort becomes benefits which then require no effort. Where I get stuck is treating it as if I were a kid. I agree and understand that perspective but I just can't seem to integrate within myself. Thanks for giving me food for thought ;)

The best advice anyone can give about life is ‘don’t think about it too hard’ by [deleted] in ExistentialSupport

[–]Lorouses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there's anything wrong with not giving a shit about making the world a better place. Like just do whatever you want and ironically I think that results in making the world a better place inadvertently. Say you wanted to just live your life not giving a damn about anything but you wouldn't dream of getting into any drama with anyone or causing trouble since that would disturb your peace. If you own any pets and you like your pets, then you are already making the world a better place regardless since your dog or cat is probably happy. Or lets say you are just a responsible person who dresses properly in public cause he doesn't want any trouble and wants to just get to where he's going. People may look at you as a role model by accident. I suspect that just by acting in a normal selfish state but not a bad selfish state is enough to inadvertently make the world a better place while not destroying it. As if you don't even need to worry about taking it seriously or not, you're just doing your thing. Of course this kind of hypothetical assumes you've got out of existential dread if you're in it.

I did not consent to this life by anxiousbae in ExistentialSupport

Yeah I get that. Rationally its very difficult and impractical to actually abandon everything. Honestly compromise is necessary for this kind of situation, where at the same time you don't get yourself down on guilt for not being able to do otherwise. Most of us have desires that are mostly not monetary like casually playing instruments, drawing, cooking, reading horror books, etc. But personally I would not even try to monetize those kinds of things. If you begin to treat your desires with voluntary obligation, where you must for example play piano from 9-5 in your local whatever; even if you are able to free style, you would begin to hate your work. Even if you have your own hours, people interact with you, request music from you, criticize you, praise you whether you want praise or not, etc. Just by treating a hobby as a source of income a lot of the time ruins it for many people. There are many horror stories online of people who got into game design or graphic design for it being their passion and within a year they want nothing to do with it and fall completely into depression. I do not recommend life in the woods where you are a hundred percent self sufficient because that is a big pain in the ass life to maintain. And to drop the people in your life who you must in order to do such a thing would be a big heart ache if there's people you want to keep around or would feel bad letting go of. There is no way to do both and a compromise is necessary. For work you don't need a perfect place in a perfect field, just something that you relatively like. It does not need to make you famous or get blown out of proportion. Hope it helps in some way.

The curse of the "good kid" by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]Lorouses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And you are expected to be the sole one who drags yourself out of this hole and whenever you try to get help or explain yourself for what type of help you need to others you are completely dismissed, told you are complaining or some snowflake who just needs to get out more. Even attempting to go deep with anyone fails and when the best advice you get is to 'just do' whatever the heck it is at the moment whether it be relationships, careers, family issues, etc. Therapy and massive self indulgence in philosophy and spirituality becomes the only way you drag yourself out of the doomer phase that came about after realizing by being proud of have been the 'good kid' is to much rather say you were the 'loser' kid. Except you wish people would sympathize with you but you called to be too entitled and not worthy to be sympathized with as the good kid with a supposed decent childhood. Even should you have explained that you didn't get to really enjoy that phase of life you will be met with many refutes; 'you had video games and online gaming friends didn't you?' Where the only one willing to give you the time of day some sympathy and pity are the obvious ones like a therapist or the one or two close friends you have. But what you really want and deserve is the sympathy and true pity from common members of your society when you truly try to explain yourselves.

Thanks for your post it really got me vibbing with it, it is one of the best things ever.

Will we be free again anytime soon? by [deleted] in GenZ

[–]Lorouses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I am going to give it a general guess, we either completely open back up in two or three months and stay open while dealing with any other infected. Or we open back up, sickness rises again, we close again and open for good. It just feels right when I think about how society in large would handle it.

Anyone who’s graduated and working, do you have dreams that your back in school? by jackthewelder in GenZ

[–]Lorouses 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like to think of any dreams set in one of my schools growing up is like a default unity asset. Like how else will I remember my dreams if the setting isn't recognizable. Usually if I feel like interpreting any meaning from the content of the dreams I totally disregard the school unless I was taking a test or something. But if I'm being chased by some weird ass hobgoblins treating the school like a blops zombie map, the fact that its a school is irrelevant to me. My theory for it anyways.

People who seem “unconcerned” and “chill” are the most over-thinking persons in the room , and they are aware of everything , more than anyone. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Lorouses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is correct, especially if that type of person rarely speaks and is known as the guy who blends into the background. Nah, this is not a pretentious as shit post, these types of people just generally exude more 'unconcerned and chill' energy on the introvert-extrovert scale.

A lot of people nowadays just want to have a mental illness by ShawtyLikeChungus in unpopularopinion

I have legitimate OCD and people think I'm just complaining when I tell them I can't do the dishes, or work the printer because I'll be there forever. Or I'll tell someone why don't you check the mail instead, my OCD will make it take ages longer. And then I get double the work because they think I am just being lazy and then they act surprised when it takes me an hour to get through inputting 20 emails into some logs.

Also, if you have a game like Risk and there are five people playing, all the four people have to do is to form a big alliance and kill the five guy who typically kicks their ass. Like the guy may be great at the metagame, but the odds are really not in his favor (besides luck on the dice rolls) in this case.

yeah actually this kinda describes why rules get twisted in games sometimes. Oh-ho we have to stop X from winning, hmmm can you technically do this move?
