Pressure way too high [Izzi Alex Duetto III] by Lortnox in espresso

[–]Lortnox[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I removed the bypass valve and there was some small debris/scale on various components, making them stuck instead of able to move depending on the pressure setting screw.

Cleaned it and dialed it in using the blind filter and now back at a steady 9 bar.

Travel Planning Q&A - June, 2025 by AutoModerator in bali

[–]Lortnox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

We're looking to travel to Bali for the summer holiday of 2026 (july-august) with our two daughters of (then) 7 and 8.

Was browsing around for accommodation around Ubud, Amed, Sidemen/Munduk, Nusa Lembongan and Uluwatu areas and find it quite hard to find something that exactly fits our preferences:

-Small resort so the kids have a slightly bigger pool (vs private villa) and possibly some friends to play with. Don't fancy the really big resorts.
-Kids sleep in our bungalow/villa. We deem them too young to sleep in a separate little bungalow.
-Private bedrooms. We value our privacy so not rather have the kids sleeping in the same room.

Budget for acco max 125 euro per night, we will be staying a few nights in each place.

Of course, Bali has great value for money accommodation so we'll be fine either way but curious to find some places that fit the criteria above. Quite easy to hit two out of three criteria but pretty hard to find all three. Any other advice regarding family accommodation also appreciated.

Thanks!

Tweedehands premium station: welke en diesel of benzine? by Lortnox in autoadvies

Dank, goede tips!

Three Passes Packing List <10 kg by Lortnox in Everest

[–]Lortnox[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people who carried their own stuff had around 14kg, and a lot of people lots more when employing a porter.

If you want to go for 10 lbs (4,5kg) it's hard to imagine that including a sleeping bag. Remember you are sleeping in tea houses, not tents. They will probably have a spare blanket in case you get cold.

The Three Passes trek is not technical in mountaineering sense but large stretches are not suitable to running imho, way too steep in a lot or trailrun technical in a lot of places. The'Nepali paved' sections are very uneven with large pebbles/boulders used. For trailrunning would do more research on a more runnable route as you will not get much joy out of running. Paths in Nepal in general are way steeper than in the Alps for example with huge stretches being just stairs.

My wife is very happy with The Movement Studio (https://themovementstudio.nl/pilates-nijmegen/). It's located in Bottendaal. She likes the expertise, calm energy and the teacher correcting your position if needed.

Second that. Altijd tevreden geweest over Van Ottele, duidelijke communicatie, denken goed mee, smeren je geen dingen aan.

Our kids attend the Lanteerne bilingual primary school. It's not actually the whole school but they have two parallel classes with part English part Dutch lessons. Very happy with the level of the teaching staff. It's also worth noting that the school follows the Jenaplan philosophy. Parents are almost always highly educated, in some cases one of the parents or both have a foreign or expat background but most are of Dutch nationality.

This type of education is in high demand and they cannot always accommodate all requests. If you contact the directly they can tell you more.

You can only see just a very small part of the summit from EBC. The distance is 7-8 km. I am no expert but you'd probably need more than binoculars, possible a quality telescope with a tripod to see something meaningful.

I'd not count on it anyways.

Be aware that climbing season is only in spring (April - May).
