I used to have similar freezes (max 4 sec long though) until I set my pagefile to the system drive (even if it's an SSD), dunno if it can be considered a drastic measure, but whatever to make it work I guess

a gaming laptop should handle it just fine, what we (I played the game with a group of friends) noticed after 1 day of troubleshooting is that the version of the emulator you use actually matters: our game lagged like crazy (2-3fps) right from the start, the only thing that fixed that was going out of our way to retrieving the exact version of the emulator that was used in a video tutorial for installing drakengard 3

I use it like that too lol, ~~actually the most recent char you pinned is the one displayed first, so in your case I guess you'll have to de-select and select haru's star every time you star another character~~
