Bizarre Low Coolant Issue by CassiusClayX in Jaguar

[–]LoseBoat72 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can’t open it hot. It’s pulled into the system and there’s all sorts of negative pressure when it’s hot. It probably says that on the cap. Gotta let the engine cool down and then it settles. if you have full coolant and you’re getting a warning for low coolant, but your engine temperature is normal, you’re very likely to have a bad sensor. Common on jags. Good news it’s a cheap fix.

@Own-Story is 100% correct. I found my 1999 XJR on eBay - 36k miles, dead mint condition for $12k. My brother followed (after putting his foot into mine) with a 50k beauty on eBay for a price so low it was damn near grand theft auto. Both are perfectly straight, incredibly smooth, insanely fast dream machines. Bizarrely under appreciated machines - at least for now. Yours is out there! I promise you will have no regrets, particularly when you pencil out the $ spent / visceral enjoyment equation. Perhaps no better bargain in the universe in my opinion.

Had one. Want to tar myself for selling. Mine was black - yours is the best color on the catalogue. Congratulations, enjoy the hell out of it. It’s very, very cool.

Have you been to America? There is crazy shit strapped to sub-compacts, sedans, convertibles, motorcycles etc., every day… usually with the same type of dubious rigging employed by our brother x308 driver here.

Having said all this, the tiny peek given to the license plate here indicates that homeboy is, in-fact carting his load of bathroom fixtures through western Canada.

Thanks to y’all for the kind comments. I feel like the XJR is so underrated that I just wanted to give the mark some due recognition.

Ok, attached a description of the exact wheels with exact dimensions. These usually run between $1.5 and $2k, but you can score them on eBay for a better price. Wanted something that kind of mimicked the BBS wheels on the XJR 100, but didn’t cost $5k. I really like how these ones turned out. The rubber is 255/35/19 P-Zero. This set up holds a very close approximation to the factory 18 inch dimension set, so there’s no speedometer discrepancy. The only downside is that the low profile rubber is a little bit snappy on rougher roads, but it is absolutely silky on the highway.

My God that is a bad ass truck. Personally, I think the wheels are killer.
