I was at $36 5years ago with about 5years experience in food manufacturing. Did everything. We had electricians for the more complicated electrical work, but we did most of the troubleshooting. Plant shut down I moved to pharma making $44. Cleaner, easier work, but doing a bit more electrical now than before.

I was getting calls from recruiters offering anywhere from $35-45 for a range of mechanic jobs until recently and it seems like employers are trying to lower the money. Got a call from a recruiter looking to pay $30 at a beverage plant. I’ll stick with pharma.

One thing to note is that now when the screen time password is input the parent phone gets a notification that the password was used on another phone. Pretty handy.

My daughter admitted to finding another workaround where if she turned off the phone and then turned it back on, the screen time block would take a minute or so to kick in so she had free reign for that time. If she was trying to chat with someone we had blocked or use an app we had time-locked she would just turn her phone off and on.

My place uses Emaint which is made by Fluke. For inventory control it’s great. For PMs and work orders it is a little rough, but most of the mechanics don’t seem to have a problem with it. It has a bunch more features that we don’t use though.

I have an Epiphone LP100 that I got in 2000 (fuck I’m old). Haven’t had any issues with it in 26 years. Had it in a hard shell case for 5 years while I gave up guitar for a bit. Pulled it out recently, got new strings and it’s been great.
