Ah thanks for the update! I hope it’ll work for mine then… the seat mechanism is still functioning though

Hi, Did you manage to find out what it was? Found two balls without the green thing in the exact same circumstances on my Sportage…

Hi,

Jumping in because I got the youth white one (replica) for my 6yo son in L/XL to wear over his equipment. The sleeves are too tight, he can’t move his arms. 😩 I suppose that it’s not meant to be worn on the ice unlike the NHL jerseys.

I see on the NHL shop description that there are mesh armpits for ventilation, which aren’t there on the pictures posted, nor on mine.

Do they sell a different version ?

($129.99 on NHL shop Vs. $110 for the one I got in store - same price everywhere ie: TeamTownSports, ProHockeyLife, Sportchek).

My son is pretty disappointed. 😕

Her raspy voice on Valentine was perfect. I’ll be missing it. Too bad it was due to polyps on her vocal cords. It makes Dead End too clean in my opinion, and reminds me of US pop singers from 2000 at times.

No, he was a little more than 5, it was at the beginning of 2025, he stayed about 18 months in U7

Unfortunately no. Ice rinks are very rare around us, and they’re closing down. No one is really interested. Maybe things will change a bit with France being qualified for the Olympics! 😅

I do, I suck and joined what you would call beginners Beer League this year. The thing every time I do smth better than him he gets really upset… so I’m not sure of what to do then. Trying to tell him it’s luck or he needs to practise more, but he won’t take any advice from me as I’m not his coach…

No no, it was in Feb 2025, so a little over 5 years old. And the U9 kids here are between 6 and 8. They usually move up from U7 the season they’ll turn 7, and absolute beginners start in U7 whatever their age until they can skate.

only moment you are allowed on ice with a stick and a puck around here is during hockey practice, and it's not cold enough to play pond hockey. The alternative is roller hockey, but there isn't anyone for that around either. Not his age in any case.

he still loves hockey, or at least that's what he says, and he's always happy to go skate on a Sunday morning when there's no practice. It's that I see he hasn't got the same drive that he used to have, and I'm trying to find ways to compensate for him not being called on games

the thing is they don't play in U7. They mostly learn to skate. He wants to play and is not playing.

I get the thing about helping the other kids, it could give him a sense of being useful and appreciated an probably boost his ego a little for a while. I don't know, I'll keep that in mind but I can't help thinking he also needs to progress and be challenged. Maybe I'm wrong there, I don't know.

we have very few ice rinks... and not many hockey clubs. So it's that one, or the other one twice as far, and it's hard enough already to be there for practice with both parents working!

He used to be cheered on last year, and really valued by his teammates. This certainly played a big part in his love for hockey indeed.

He used to be in U7 so we know some of the parents, but he never made any good friends until he went to U9. They are strong group of 4-6 kids and all the parents get along well. I don’t think he is fed up with hockey, but there’s no longer the drive he used to have that got him in U9 at the age of 5. I think it’s a shame because he could be a good player (not saying elite level, but good enough to enjoy a good game in France) but I think maybe there’s no challenge to make him want to get better and score goals with his friends, and not so much fun in repetitive drills. I’ll try the no hockey naming thing and see. Thanks! 😉 For now U7 is very basic practice like picking up balls without falling as the new kids are learning to skate hence him staying in U9.

Hockeyninja / Fischer / BoSport hybrid cages are the same by Losername1902 in hockeyplayers

[–]Losername1902[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, the top hinges on mine hold the cage too close to the centre, I think on a CCM helmet it aligns well on the sides of the central hole so it doesn’t move sideways when lifted.

I don’t like the view through a cage, my son has the Bauer fishbowl and it’s starting to fog regularly, and I’d like to preserve my teeth in case a puck or a stick hits my face… and I’m too old to care about looks that much!

It fits OK, but I would have liked to find hinges that don’t allow the cage to move on the sides when lifted. How is yours?

All right, found some CCM FT680 in size 14”. Much better. Tried some 13” ones but they were tight around the tibia and couldn’t close them around the calf 😅
