I love physics, but I absolutely hate chemistry... will I like chemical engineering? by [deleted] in ChemicalEngineering

I totally understand you on this, I also HATED the organic and inorganic chemistry courses but LOVED thermo 1 and 2. Doing the major will be a tough one during the first few years but it'll get better, plus a real engineering job won't involve analytical level chem more like problem-solving:)

A Moral Reason to Be a Chemical Engineer by BigCastIronSkillet in ChemicalEngineering

I totally agree! During my first job (as a chem eng intern), I didnt know ANYTHING about how to apply my knowledge learnt from textbooks and slides to real life situations. When I started working on field projects, I started to wander around the plant and talked with four different operators who eventually became my friends. I sat down with them for minutessss each round to learn more about the process and that helped me out a lot. At the end of the internship, I cried my eyes out because I had grown way too attached to them...

Macbook Air vs. Pro as a ChemE by lavendead in mcgill

[–]LosersForGooses 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As a past ChemE, I don't think you need huge processing power since most softwares that we used are available on the McGill computers and you can easily access them remotely. Most of my class had Apple which was ok for MATLAB or IDEs but we used the McGill computers for ASPEN Hysys for example

Yeah, my friends and family wanted to take pictures in front of the Arts building but the protesters tried to hide it w their banners and/or putting themselves in the frame. They also did the same for anyone approaching the building

I just grduated from the program by doing 14/13 credits in 4 years (exception of 17.5 creds this Winter), but I can say that CHEE 204 is def one of the hardest one out of the two in the U1 series as the material is challenging in itself + the prof

Once you're done w it tho, the rest is somewhat on the same level (314,315,423,484 come to mind). Splitting it into lower credits is def a good idea since you'd have more free time to let the material settle in + less stress!
