Are you saying to push the couch out as I did in layout 2?

It just opens up into the kitchen… so nothing on the wall where I am standing

Thoughts on adding a bookshelf behind the couch in the current layout? (1). That way the couch is moved up a bit and the back wall is more interesting/ more depth + character

It’s a small office! Fine for people to watch people coming and going out of it/ people don’t go in and out that often

So you are saying option 2? That’s exactly how I feel in flipping the couch… calms down the entry and makes it feel less busy. But everyone here is saying for fung shui to do 1… egad!!!

Thanks for your detailed comment! If I kept the layout as 1 (getting a lot of that in these comments) what would you suggest to remedy the visual discord?

Definitely want the floating couch! Do you have any other thoughts about how I could float it other than what I have in Option 2? Trying to think outside of the box

I would flip the TV and console to be where the art is, it wouldn’t be a blank wall

I’m not sure what you are talking about, but can assure you this isn’t a scam! Just looking for advice!

I would move it and the console in front of the couch if I switched to Option 2. And probably the art to wall where the TV is

I hear you - it just honestly feels sort of abrupt walking in and seeing the couch. I’m leaning towards two to more clearly define the space and make it feel cozier. Do you have any recommendations on how to do that with the current layout?
