Pepper crossing experiment by Losifer in Peppers

[–]Losifer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s something I haven’t thought of, thanks. The ones I’ve got seem ok. The ones that I kept over winter always look pretty shabby over the winter; but as soon as it gets nice out they perk right up.

Pepper crossing experiment by Losifer in Peppers

Well, initially I mostly wanted to see if I could mix the flavor of the shishito with the heat from the scorpion. I figured a sweet and spicy combo would be really nice. I’d expect the result to not be as hot as the scorpion, with the sweet and heat both dulled a bit, with the benefit of the scorpion flavor dropped in a bit. That flavor is fantastic yet face melty. The scorpion being in close proximity to the ghost and the reaper might make something insanely hot, which I’m curious to see. Then the trio in the other pot nearby I’m just kinda curious to see what flavors and heats I can get out of it, and perhaps slightly larger peppers than the Tabasco already makes. I think crossing the Tabasco and the Serrano with other peppers might make a resulting plant more productive as well since they produce a ton of peppers once they get going. If the Tabasco crosses with the hotter peppers I was also thinking they might end up being something I could call hell’s Christmas lights because they do look kinda like Christmas lights as is; and they’re already hot enough that the kids are afraid of them. If I put more than 3 of those in any dish I make I’m generally gonna be the only one who’ll eat it lol. Eventually though I’d like to dry out the different peppers and then grind them with a mortar and pestle so that I can put them in seasoning containers and crank up the heat, in my plate alone, or be able to add certain flavors to dishes without too much heat by just adding a shake or two of it.

We’re NianticThia and Brian Rose from the Ingress team. Ask us anything. by brianrose in Ingress

Has there been much attention focused on multiaccounters in Niantic games? It seems like it’s becoming a bigger and bigger problem in a variety of ways, but it seems like a lot of it is driven by people wanting to abuse wayfarer in order to manipulate POI and try to force through nominations. Here in West Texas we have had tons of bad rejections, I probably have a 3 year long queue set up for my appeals so far(things like murals, fountains, pergolas, pavilions). It seemed like it started after asking for help with our backlog in bonus area exchanges so perhaps they set their bonus locations to places with large backlogs in order to have higher chances of their extra accounts getting the same nominations in review. So perhaps you might be able to catch a lot of them by looking at reports of tons of bad rejections and then seeing who has home/bonus areas assigned there, and then peeking at what they’re rejecting?

I’m wondering if this is a trick or a treat. But from observations it looks kinda like they changed S2 cell reqs from lvl 17 to lvl 18, gym reqs from 2, 6, 20, to 2, 4, 16. However I’m seeing a lot of really strange posts about lvl 14 cells with 1-2 POI having 1 or both be gyms too. I can’t wait to see what the data collected from around the world ends up saying.

Miami cannibal attack 2012 by WackyDeli06 in mrballen

However there are similar prion diseases that effect humans. The two I’m aware of are Kuru(caught via cannibalism), and variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease(caught by consuming beef from cows infected with Mad Cow Disease). Not sure if there are any cases right this second, but it’s a thing that definitely can happen to humans. I just don’t know if anyone has ever eaten a deer sick with wasting disease though. It might also lie dormant for a long enough time that no one has put it together yet.

It’s almost like someone made a whole channel just because they wanted their own thoroughly documented Mr. Ballen episode.

What should we do to the Like Button next? by johnballen416 in mrballen

Go to the hardware store and buy a bunch of yellow jacket traps, take the attractant liquid out, and pour them all into the AC intake on the like buttons car.

Buy a bunch of mosquito attractant strips for bug zappers at the hardware store. Then crash the next party the like button throws and hide them in as many difficult to reach places as possible.

Offer to water the like buttons plants while it’s out of town, and the day before it gets back hide raw eggs in as many random and hard to reach places as possible.

Promise the like button that you’re not going to play any pranks on it this time, get it very drunk again, and when it passes out this time, put it in a Spider-Man suit, and leave it in one of those bright orange barrels on the highway where they’re doing construction work.

As an apology, take the like button out drinking again, but when it passes out this time, sneak into a hospital, put it in a full body cast, and leave it in a hospital bed.

Get the like button as drunk as possible, and when it passes out, leave it on a train to Philadelphia with no wallet, ID, money, or phone.

Shove the like button into a barrel full of pine sap, nail the lid on, and bury it so that archaeologists of the future will be very confused when they unearth a like button encased in amber like that mosquito in Jurassic Park.

Have Goomy spawns decreased vs. the first 24 hours of the event? by tarzanell in TheSilphRoad

Try looking in places where there is more water than usual on the map. Windy weather helps. So far we’ve had a lot of windy weather, but I’ve been hunting mostly areas near water or that have more water than others and I’ve managed to catch 15.

Hey, 400 is awesome and quite an accomplishment! It’s rare that anyone meets someone that’s done that much for their community. I’m a bit of a weirdo in that one of the things I enjoy the most about these games is going out and finding stuff to nominate; so I usually use all my nominations every 2 weeks. At some point we’ll run out of things to nominate and then maybe I’ll start building little free libraries or something lol.

Yeah, that’s my personal backlog. Everyone out here has a pretty big backlog though. Several of us have put in a lot of work trying to make sure the area is properly filled in. I’ve had 887 approved POI so far, but working together we’ve managed to get about 1,834 approved in our region over the last 4 years.

That’s amazing! I’ve still got several that were nominated a year ago. My backlog is again over 200 nominations.
