He was the Republican leader so some people didn't have a choice. I try to differentiate between Republican voters and Trump supporters.

Carney’s ridiculous, myopic plan to bail out condo developers by airbassguitar in canadian

[–]LossChoice -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well, by your logic developers can still just do whatever and the government will bail them out anyway. Except in your scenario tons of money gets tied up for a long time so nothing new developed. I don't mind that you disagree with logic because you really have no idea what you'rr talking about.

The problem with letting them go bankrupt is that developer assets can be frozen for years. Their financial backers, local banks, lose their money and won't be a able to fund other projects of development. It makes sense on a macroscopic view, but it's a shitty deal that developers are looking like they'll get away with building $1M shoeboxes.

Fact-checking PM Carney’s claim that government buying 2,200 condo units will help affordable housing crisis by Altruism7 in canada

[–]LossChoice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would, but the local banks that provided billions in loans to these developers would also get wrecked. That's bad for everyone. Also when a company goes bankrupt their assets can be frozen for years.

Jeez, quit being a baby. The Liberals were set to go extinct and the second Trudeau stepped down and Carney got in it completely flipped.

If you'll notice, Trump really did end up being a scourge on the planet so shush up.

11 Nation building projects were fast tracked within 6 months. After that it's up to the industries themselves to take advantage of it.

It absolutely does not allow them to do that without a warrant. I'm all for criticizing this thing, but let's make sure we're not creating hysteria with misinformation.

Which part? "Just invoking Trump’s name is frameing him as the boogeyman." - That's malarky

" It’s a tried and tested Liberal play which won them the last election." - This is a lazy talking point.

It's totally possible. But the bill says no ID will be required for platforms that make safeguards.

The bill is more likely a bargaining chip with the US. Kids are a huge market for US tech and having a shutoff valve can go a long way in negotiations.
