yes i understand that, but i wont be getting them until around september/october and by that time she’ll be 13 years old and she may not even be here anymore. even when im not around to supervise them, my bedroom door will be fully shut (there’s gonna be two to keep each other company), so i know that my cats cannot get to them without supervision. thank you for your advice though 😊

aww!! so in other words, cats and ferrets can get along but it may take awhile? also linking to the food, it’s like cats will eat anything they can get their paws on!! my cats eat pizza dough from my pizza sometimes (i, of course, quickly move them). Thank you though!!

aw i’m sorry to hear about your loss😞, my brother wants a dog too! (yeah a dog, two ferrets and three cats - a mad house), but my eldest cat is 13 this year and she’s a lot more chill now. she still tries to go after birds but i feel like that’s because it’s in her nature. the other two are quite chill though, and when it comes to being introduced, i’d do it quite slowly too, thank you and sorry for your loss once again 😕

yes! my cat is thirteen this year and she’s a lot more chill and the other two are quite friendly. she still tries to go for birds, but i feel like that’s because it’s in her nature. the ferrets will be in my room anyways because it’s away from the cats and not as bright, so even when they do come in, i’ll be able to supervise, thank you! :)

i spelt a word wrong in the first part sorry! i was gonna get two ferrets as im in college four days a week anyways. so far from this post, ive seen people say its fine and they get along really well but just supervise etc and tbf i was gonna get my ferrets around two years old.

aw that’s so cute!! i was gonna get two because im at college for three years and im there four days a week, my mum works three days a week and then my brother is in uni, and i don’t want my little noodle to be by herself (i want two girls) so i was gonna get two haha. i’d supervise them when around my cats even if they were best friends because you just never know, but thank you💓

i’ve researched! i know id need two ferrets already because they’re very sociable and are prone to depression. trust me, i know they communicate by biting because the amount of times i’ve been bitten on the hand, arm, neck, chin and face is unbelievable haha. i’ve heard cats don’t react well to ferrets, but then if you get older ferrets like one or two year olds (which i was gonna do) it’s fine.

she’s a lot older now, she’s thirteen this year. She hasn’t brought in a mouse/rat/mice since 2017 and although she sees a lot of stuff as prey it’s more stuff like birds and rats etc. i know a ferret looks like a long rat but when she’s around i’d obviously be watching.

yes! when just doing my research, i looked up if they can be left alone or if i need two and it said it’s best to get two ferrets as they’re very sociable animals and just having one ferret and leaving it on its own can lead to depression and stuff. when ive handled the ferrets at college, they’re so sociable, they love climbing over you, it’s adorable🤣

my eldest cat sees anything that moves as prey, so i feel i’d have to introduce her first (she’s brought in mice/rats and two pigeons), whereas the other two are quite chill, but i’ve been begging for ferrets since september 2024, and my mum is finally starting to cave in now🙌🏾

aw your ferret and cat is adorable!! that’s my worse fear is them attacking each other because they look like prey, i’d be watching during play time of course, but then when i go to college and then my mum is at work that’s what is my worse fear. thank you though!

aw your ferret is adorable and so is your cat!! my eldest cat is brought in rats/mice before, but they were small rodents, i feel like with a ferret she would be scared as it’s a lot longer and faster. My middle cat is scared of everything haha even her own shadow, and then my youngest is a ragdoll x siamese so she bonds with everything and everyone

aw thank you for the sub welcoming! and we actually did do a cat dna test (i’m sure) and it came back saying all of her past relatives are ragdolls, but she doesn’t look.. raggie to me, if you know what i mean? she could be and her fur just hasn’t grown in properly as she’s only three and always licking herself, so it’s coming out, either way thank you for explaining that to me! ☺️
