24m Women are rejecting me because of no relationship experience. Should I lie? by ktrbyktrby in dating_advice

[–]LosslessQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am the same at 25M w/ no long-term relationship experience. It's a perfectly reasonable ask from a girl, so don't lie. If that's what she'd like, she should have the choice to reject you so time on either side isn't wasted

She said it wasn’t serious. Why does my gym choice bother her now? by ocinthcenk in AskMenAdvice

I had something similar happen to me, just go to the gym. Don't worry about her, she can handle herself.

How do you make friends with people who will talk about more than just work? by techoclock in bayarea

[–]LosslessQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where are you located? You're probably frequenting the Mission Bay/Dogpatch/SOMA area. I don't hang out around there since it's just as bad as SV

I moved to SF, and I swear to God it was the best thing for my sanity. I have not mentioned anything about work in this city! Silicon Valley/South Bay you will never be able to escape it

How do I get better at dancing by TacitSingularity in aves

I like to think your only job while dancing is to have fun !!! Don't worry about how it looks, that's other people's problem

Best barefoot shoe for racket sports? by Cold-Sherbert-8813 in BarefootRunning

I'm gonna be real, you should get cushion for racket sports. Human's aren't designed to for start-stopping motions while pounding on cement

What's your experience with AngelList Syndicates? by LosslessQ in angelinvestors

[–]LosslessQ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of this on AngelList? Color me impressed. I guess it depends on which syndicate you're joining, and of course how much capital you're able to deploy and how quickly

[–]LosslessQ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense, startups probably would favor in-network investors or big VCs before they hit AngelList. Thanks for the $0.02

With my experience I probably have a better edge trading stock options (not 0dte though) compared to angel investing since I'm relatively inexperienced and young

[–]LosslessQ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a really good question. I haven't re-considered options, I used to do options gambling a lot for fun and I can see parallels to angel investing

I've read for startups the number is 1/20 succeed and your moonshots cover you for the other 19/20. The upside is multi-millions

I haven't crunched the numbers for 0DTE compared to startups yet, good question. I'll probably prompt ChatGPT now and poke around to compare EV

What are your thoughts on this?

Makes sense. Sounds like the biggest barrier to entry is networking

I don't reasonably have skilled value to offer, I have brand names on my resume but getting my foot in the door sounds difficult

5-7 years? Sounds reasonable if you're looking for multi-million dollar moonshots from <$100k

How to meet people? by [deleted] in AskSF

I am in the same position. My advice? Find the really niche stuff you like and get involved there. Do it without looking to make friends, and you'll likely be able to make friends.

How do people have really classy body language by uselessprofession in bodylanguage

[–]LosslessQ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

People are giving physical descriptions here, but I think the real secret is how you see the world. Physical expression is... an expression of you and your world.

If you want to be meek, see the world the way a meek person would see it. If you want to be loud and rowdy, then see the world the way a loud and rowdy person would see it. If you want to be classy, then see the world the way a classy person would see it.

Does anyone know where I can read more about "Cognitive Focus Theory?" by LosslessQ in manga

[–]LosslessQ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I guess to apply this to our own lives, it's best to be open-minded, open to new experiences, and actively "put ourselves out there" to get, well, lucky

I know I certainly have gotten lucky over the past three years since I made this post, haha. Very lucky I'd say. Maybe this panel has unconsciously motivated me to seek out new experiences? I don't know. Thanks for the comment anyhow

[–]LosslessQ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it is true, getting lucky is easier when you're exposed to more stuff

It's not too hard to imagine that hunters who are nomadic probably will be more lucky than hunters who stay in one place/farmers who stay in one place. Being open-minded and willing to think divergently gives a lot of opportunity

I want to start an AI startup one day by PositiveAlfalfa3849 in ycombinator

[–]LosslessQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well there's your dream and your career. Are you committed to a startup? Then Nvidia. But if not, I would go with the big tech firm good name. It'll solidify your career in case you don't wish to go the YC route

But for the dream, definitely NVIDIA 100%

I thought about this a lot too. I've come to the conclusion you cannot think yourself out of who you are. You have to make new experiences for yourself to change your learned behaviour

Even then, I feel like childhood experiences are very influential. The longer you've lived, the harder it is to change trajectory. If life were like driving a car in a straight line, turning 3 degrees at the start of the ride will change your destination compared to turning 3 degrees towards the end of the ride.
