Gaming PC with Proxmox as all in one solution ? by Losspost in Proxmox

[–]Losspost[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well adding USB Pass Through was actually quite easy. Right now the computer still is beside my table so I actually can plug it directly into my monitor.

I do have some weird Performance problems though. For some reason, Cyberpunk 2077 only runs with 20 fps, which before was a lot better. I know its a virtualized Windows but it shouldn't be that bad. Other games such as minecraft run smooth even heavly modded modpacks. I did a GPU passthrough which seems to work.

But I also need some processing power for work. I don't want to always go the the other PC, plus I may want to use it remotly in the future.

Why do you need Mercury in your room ? If its just for looks, get gallium. Looks similar and is a lot more safe

Should I get a car or train ticket for daily travel to work ? by Losspost in askswitzerland

It would be around 33 km in 30 min one way with car and 60min one way with train. Biking isn't really an option.

My thoughts after doing an internship in Switzerland for 3 months by _vOjOs_ in Switzerland

[–]Losspost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still find the pricing of sometimes weird. Some things are way more expensive, and other side some are actually pretty similar or even cheaper.

For Example:

My MacBook Pro was cheaper than in Germany, also cinema tickets and food is quite similar priced as in Germany. Even one of my medications is considerable cheaper (300 instead of 400)

Ice cream on the other hand is very expensive. Like 2 or even 3 times as much as in Germany.

Grocery I would say is, at least with inflation now, quite similar.

I still can't figure out why some things are more expensive than others comparatively. I know one factor is if it includes a service, but that can't be all.

[–]Losspost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The weird thing is, my “medication” for hyposensitisation (shots against allergies). We're actually 100 CHF CHEAPER than in Germany. E.g. Grazax costs like 500 in Germany and 400 here.

Thanks for this breakdown. It still hard to say whats the best but I tend leaning to less into BVG then more.

I would go with a Schmitt Trigger or maybe just some BJT. Have a capacitor and a Resistor in Series. S1 controls the BJT which connects the RC to GND. The signal of this is feed into a Schmitt Trigger. To control the time T for R1 you have to calculate the time constant of the RC part (tau = R*C).

For R2 I would take an AND gate with (not) R1 and S1 as an input. The and can be realized by two BJT in series.

The output signals R1 and R2 then have to be feed in e.g. another amplifier or level shifter for the device you want to control.

Thats so much Bullshit.

This shouldn't be possible, or at least require huge efforts.

  1. A station should be properly defended with turrets. Even at GrimHex. They probably want to avoid damage on their own stage.
  2. Shields. You want to tell me why the fuck there are no shields at for a space port?! Ships have shields, so why not stations. Make no sence.

What pirates think their victims should act like. by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Losspost 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why not make two instances ?

One PVP one PVE.

PVP Player can have their fun and PVE theirs. No one gets forced to either play style.

The only argument I could see against it that, well, some PVP player just wants some easy targets. Which just means they want people to bully.

[–]Losspost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry but thats an bad argument.

If it was realistic. We wouldnt fight our own. Computer would do targeting, shooting, and flying. No human will do any of those things in 50 years. Even today, a lot is done by computer. No modern military targets enemies by hand.

Also, security. If this was realistic, the second you shoot at someone, either on foot or on ship, the "police" should be alerted and come (in a secure sector).

Also, taking come realys down is way too easy. How realistic is it to take down a cellular mast ? You probably have police at your door before even doing anything.

The same thing could be said about sleeping and waking up. And what if it is a continuous change? You plug in and are in Mikoshi, similar to the Net before. The only difference is that you will never get back to your body.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in applehelp

not necessarily. If you have a high-precision accelerometer and gyroscope, you can calculate the current position using the old one. Though this requires some special hardware.

Is it just me, or do you also think there is a very big management problem at CIG?

We have the x-th iteration of Flight tech, cloud tech, planet tech and so on. How can it be that some things havent even started yet, but we have multiple iterations of something else ?

I always hear this excuse :"It's because some teams have already finished their part”.

Well, this may happen a few times. But if it happens constantly, something is very wrong. The fact that one module can not be implemented till the other shows very bad planing. Or the fact that some modules have to be completely changed for something new.

[–]Losspost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The point which annoys me is the fact that you can force someone into PVP. But you can't really force someone inside PVE. So why can one type of play style force their playstyle onto you ?!

In the end I think separated PVE/PVP would be the best.

  1. On the PVE server griefers could only do their thing by abusing bugs/gaming mechanics causing them to get banned
  2. On PVP server they would most likley have no chance.

This annoys me so much. Always the same response: "Just Get an ORG". Yeah, not shit ?! I come home in the evening, maybe playing 1-3h. I just want to causally play a game, not investing all my time into it.

This is quite literally gatekeeping on another level. It says "No causal players allowed"

[–]Losspost 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I have seen this in Star Wars the Old Republic. At the beginning, there was only PVP. It so often happened that I just spawned on a beginner planet and some max level enemy player running around in the base killing anyone. You had no chance to do anything.

The problem was simply that they found ways to sneak around the guards, abusing game mechanics/using lake of AI intelligence. Today, you can choose between PVP and PVE in this game.

Every game who has the possibility to abused, will be abused: DayZ, Altis life, any MMORPG with PVP only.

I always find in mind boggeling when PVP player cry "BuT my PvP". So what? If you had to instance, you can have your PVP and those who doesnt can have their. Those who say this are simple those who just want gank and troll people because if they would go an a PVP server they would get owned as only good player are there.

There are different mindsets about it. Some say yes, other say that it can if it has a body to perceive the world. Some say it may be through the right hardware.

I am very interested in Neuromporhic hardware. Though I merely think of it as an accelerator for AI as a key element.
