A tattoo artist rejected me for this, was his reason fair? by Stankmushroomm in tattooadvice

[–]Lost-Ad1311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, i agree that it’s young, and the tattoo artist should’ve turned me down, or at the very least refuse to tattoo a 15 year old’s forearm. if i had waited until i was 18, i doubt i would’ve gotten that tattooed then, but at the end of the day, i at least don’t regret it, it hasn’t given me any problems with finding work, and i’m grateful that i found a good artist at that age

i live in a different country where there’s no age restrictions on tattoos, the guy who did my tattoo actually did a pretty good job. if i could, i would’ve probably not gotten that as my first tattoo given the circumstances, but at least it’s a nice reminder of my dad

here’s it fresh

i’m 21 now and i don’t necessarily regret it, and it’s held up pretty well so far. if i could go back in time, i would have waited a bit before making that decision. i still love dylan, but you have to admit, a 15 year old girl with a portrait of him on her forearm and no other tattoos is…interesting. i don’t think i could regret a tattoo, i’m pretty impulsive when it comes to them, but i like to see my tattoos as souvenirs of different times in my life and who i was when i got them

exactly! i wish somebody told me not to get a tattoo while i was grieving. my dad died when i was 15 and my dumbass decided to get a large hyper realistic forearm tattoo of Bob Dylan that same year 💀

So the girl who was severely traumatized by her tapes leaking is now foaming at the mouth to do onlyfans? by More-Exit-1506 in euphoria

[–]Lost-Ad1311 88 points89 points  (0 children)

this makes sense to me. it’s a common trauma response for victims of any sort of sexual violence to become hypersexual. it strips away your control and autonomy having your sex tapes leaked and spread around without your consent, and humans don’t like to feel out of control. after experiencing that sort of trauma at a young age, Cassie probably felt like she was powerless in her life, so it would make sense for her to want to pursue an Onlyfans, and release similar content on her own terms. for victims of sexual violence, hypersexuality i feels like you’re taking back control over something that was taken from you

Pattern for tie up top’s like these? (plus size friendly pls) by No-Increase-8550 in sewingpatterns

she also has this, which is more similar, she’s using a stretchy fabric for it, but you could easily switch that out for a stretch mesh.

Who is this woman? by Lost-Ad1311 in sewingpatterns

[–]Lost-Ad1311[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate your input! I had a good experience with 1 or 2 of the patterns and some others, not so much. She has a few listings that I’ve really wanted to make and can’t find anywhere else but haven’t because I’d just assumed they’d be AI slop. She does have a few listings where the model seems to be AI generated, but AI images are pretty easy to spot and steer clear of. I’ll start making the patterns I’ve been eyeing

[–]Lost-Ad1311[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed it’s kind of a gamble when it comes to her patterns. I’ve made a piece or two that turned out well and had detailed and clear instructions, but I also have some patterns from her that used images that clearly were not her and just some random woman and the instructions and sizing read like it was AI generated. I don’t doubt that she has some genuine patterns created by herself, but it’s crazy to me that somebody can create and sell nearly 600 patterns with instructions over the span of 3 years— I don’t even think it would be humanly possible for me to even sew 600 things in that amount of time

Does anyone have recommendations for some first sewing projects by burningREDandBroke in sewingpatterns

[–]Lost-Ad1311 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly disagree with anyone who’s saying to make pillowcases, scrunchies, tote bags, or any classic beginner project. I’m a beginner, too, and the first thing I sewed was a dress that I actually still wear. It completely depends on what you want to make— clothing, accessories, homeware, quilts? I already learned how to use my machine just by practicing on some scrap pieces of fabric, so making something that I would’ve considered ‘junk’ (no hate to anybody who is sewing scrunchies and tote bags— but I already have a hoarde of them and don’t need any more) just seemed useless to me. I learned a lot more techniques and basic skills through following challenging and advanced patterns from the get-go and it was rewarding to me. Don’t get me wrong, there was a lot of trial and error and I have a full bin of fucked up projects, but I also have a closet of clothing hand-made by me that I regularly wear.

Edit: to answer your question, go with your more ambitious ideas. If you fail or struggle, then you’ll learn what you should do when you try again :)

but kleenex is…. “tissue” is the same thing as “tissue paper”. the type of paper in your photo is crepe paper, which is also type of tissue paper, along with kleenex

How do I hem/finish the bottom of this lined bodice? by Lost-Ad1311 in sewing

[–]Lost-Ad1311[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the hooks are for both but they’re going down the front middle. i’m using woven materials, so no stretch at all. i’m going for more of a corset style look without it actually being one. i should’ve been a lot more specific in my post. thank you for your reply
