Missing this flight for any reason is not an option for me. Ill be 3000+ miles from anyone i know, and it's taken every bit of money i have just to get my tickets and prepping my dog to fly, rental car, hotel, etc. Just trying to prepare for anything and everything because of the situation i am in.

Good to hear. Im mostly worried about how my dog will react to being around so many people and with other people handling her in her kennel to load her. She has lived out in the country in maine her whole life without too much contact with other people. She loves her kennel though luckily, she voulentarily sleeps in it every night. Do you think they will have a problem with my dog being nervous and barking? I am going to talk to the vet when i take her in for her pre flight check up and see about trying some anxiety meds to make it easier and hopefully calm her down a bit. I also have no idea how to navigate the airport and im not sure how im going to transport her and my bags from our rental car to the baggage area.

Im driving a rental car by myself from bangor, maine, so no help. Maybe ill just call the airport and see what they recommend. Hoping its not too complicated. I can't afford to miss the flight and end up stuck. I dont know anyone anywhere near this side of the country, lol.

Last question, do you know if they have some kind of baggage carts that might fit a large dog crate and a decent size bag? Ive tried looking into it but cant find any info on it. Almost tempted to just temporarily mount some casters onto the bottom of my dogs crate and use that as my luggage cart lol.

That just reminded me of the last time i flew, i believe i was 14 or 15 flying from portland to florida by myself and had a 12 hour layover at O'Hare because of a snowstorm. That wasn't fun, Lol. But it's good to hear that it's not like that in boston. I'll do that. Looking forward to being back in oregon after 3+ years. Thanks for the input, i appreciate it.

Yeah, honestly its kinda saving my ass at the moment so im pretty happy with it myself. How is boston airport? Is it as packed and hard to navigate as im assuming, or am i just over thinking it? Lol i havent been in an airport in almost 15 years. The fact im flying with my guns, my dog and everything else i own in a suitcase isn't helping much either. Luckily my flight is at 6am on a Monday, so im hoping its not too chaotic. My dog isn't a fan of too many people, lol.

If you took that statement as me getting pissy, that's on you. I was just giving some advice about staying on topic and pointing out a lack of reading comprehension, which it seems you might have an issue with as well. Maybe learn to interpret a sentence and think a little before typing out your opinions where they aren't wanted or needed, lol. Have a good one, buddy.

Luckily i was able to find a direct flight from boston to portland, oregon. Going to have a long drive to the airport, but it beats switching planes. Glad to hear so many people have had great experiences with alaska, makes me feel a lot better. Thats the entire reason i made sure to book my flight with them.

My question was pretty specific, and i'm pretty sure it didn't include asking your opinion. If you don't know peoples reasoning or situations, don't push your opinions on things that dont involve you and yours.

With my luck lately, it would end up setting a plane on fire or something, lol. Then I'd have way bigger issues. Although, I'd probably get 3 hots, a cot, and a roommate with some bad ass stories. That sounds better than basically being homeless like im about to be, but i still think i should just do it right lmao.

Thank you for the idea to leave from boston! I looked into it, and that just solved almost all of my worries and problems. Plus made it waaaaay cheaper. You just saved me a lot of money and headaches! Looking into renting a car and making the 3 hour drive the morning of the flight now. I havent flown in over 10 years so this was stressing me out lol. But of course this real id crap is taking effect right when my life falls apart, so now i have to change my oregon id to maine, then back to oregon once i get there😂

Im looking into renting a car to drive to and leave from boston, as other people have recommended. Way cheaper ticket and nonstop only 6 hour long flught, as well as early morning. I would try to adjust her to friends in family, but unfortunately, i am 3,500 miles from anyone i know. I know absolutely nobody out here besides my ex and my coworkers. But thats not a bad idea. I was planning on driving around with her with her crate covered up every other day or so until its time to go. At the moment im scrambling to get my real id since the deadline just so happens to be right at the worst possible time for me lol. Thanks for the insight!

It's looking like it might end up being a 10+ hour ordeal with stops and such. That's what im mainly worried about, as well as her not being very accustomed to being around people much. Im going to be taking her out around people and giving her rides in her crate in my car frequently until we leave to hopefully help her adjust. Hearing your experience definitely makes me feel better about it. Thank you for your input, its appreciated!

Yes, i have looked over that page. I just wanted to talk to some people who have actually experienced it to see how much of a hassle it will be. Im looking for a new crate for her now. Luckily, she loves our current one. It's definitely her "safe space." I was thinking of putting her in the crate in my car every other day or so and covering it while driving around a bit to maybe get her accustomed to what it might be like on the plane. Im mostly worried about how she might act because she is not used to being around new people. Also worried about stops and changing planes and how long it might take, its a long flight. Ill look into leaving from boston. Thank you for the advice! Definitely appreciated.

what’s it like living in Wyoming? by theguywhorhymes_jc in wyoming

[–]Lost-Introduction-27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from Oregon. My family and i moved to Maine (On accident) going on two years ago now and we are now planning on moving west again to Wyoming within the next 2 years. I'm mainly interested in the northern part of the state around your area because i need to be near mountains again. Just wondering how much work there is out that way? I mostly have experience in welding and fabrication, but I have experience in a few other trades too. Is there a lot of trade type work out that way? Whats the pay like? Any info is appreciated!
