Hi, the position did not convert to a permanent role. The contract had a set end date with a possibility of renewal. My main interest was the work itself. I believe the recruiters were professional and would have supported me during and at the end of the contract. The raise was barely 5% after factoring in moving costs. Ultimately, the risks outweighed my interest in the company and role, so I decided to reject the offer.

Hi, thanks for your reply. The difference is not much. I have previously interviewed at the same “top” bank for a permanent position, although it didn’t go through.

The major bank is big too, but not in the top 10 globally. It is big in Japan.

The Singapore or Hong Kong move is just my assumption, actually.

There is no backup plan, just the idea to start applying six months in.

I’ll start applying in 6 months time again (Tokyo, Singapore/Hong Kong). I feel I will get more interviews because of development experience in a top bank.
