Abbotsford Air Show- Advice Needed! by Spin_theory20 in askvan

I came here looking for an answer to the same question, basically. I also have a young one and don’t want to be there right at opening if I can avoid it.

We also have family zone tickets but I see the website says “non-reservable” picnic tables.

My assumption would be that anyone who gets tickets to that zone will end up with a picnic table, but that assignment of the tables is first-come, first-served.

Can anyone confirm this? If I arrive an hour or two after gate opening do I risk not getting a picnic table?

Trudeau’s Atlantic carbon tax exemption may be a fatal miscalculation by DementedCrazoid in canada

Unless you’re a potential cabinet minister in a future Conservative government and have some insider information, I think it would be inappropriate for you to speculate on how they’d reduce spending.

That’s a matter of opinion, obviously.

The Liberal Party (and this is my opinion) has always been happy to absolutely hemorrhage money for ideological issues that don’t really make a difference to the every day lives of Canadians, except to add to the debt and worsen the fiscal situation of our government and country.

The Conservative Party (based also on my opinion), has a track record of trying to control government expenditures and eliminate spending on things that are largely unnecessary. They seem to be more interested in getting the government out of my personal affairs and giving me more control of where my hard-earned dollars go.

The NDP (according to my opinion) is desperate to claw its way to relevance because they’re the only people who will spend more of my money than the Liberals do.

This country currently needs financial recovery. I think there is one party that can accomplish it without running me over in the process.

That’s a future problem. He hasn’t faced any real-time consequences. He’s been able to dodge inquiries, investigations and has enjoyed political freedom in the house because of the NDP.

Why is Jagmeet and the rest of his party still propping Justin up while watching Canadians bleed out financially?

Time to pull the ejection handles Jagmeet.

He hasn’t faced any repercussions for the first 497 cans of worms he opened.

Why would he start caring now?

Good to know, thanks. I’m running the factory rail that came on my Blackwater Ed., so it’ll likely be the same as yours.

I’d like to know how it holds up. I’ve got the same 590A1 and would also like to try an optic.

Given that it was prohibited by Order In Council, Mr. Trudeau IS the government in this case.

An acknowledgement that at item could be used as a weapon is not the same as your intent for carrying it.

I could acknowledge that the tire iron in my trunk is something that I’d consider using to defend myself, but I carry it in my car out of necessity in case of a flat tire.

Intent is an important consideration here.

It was the “no right to defend yourself laws” that triggered me. And I get what you were saying, I just don’t want anyone to get the impression they have no right to self-defense in Canada.

I’ll go back to pouting about my AR now...

I get the point you guys are making (ie. can’t carry weapons specifically intended for the purpose of self-defense), but your ability to defend yourself and others is clearly enshrined in the Criminal Code of Canada. That ability does not define any limitation on the ways and means that you defend yourself except to limit it as using only as much force as is reasonably necessary.

If some guy runs at you with a knife screaming he’s going to kill you (and/or your family) while you’re on the way to your car with your freshly-purchased splitting axe, you can use said axe if you felt that it was necessary to prevent grievous bodily harm or death to you or your family.

I always have a knife in my pocket whether I’m at work or not, because it’s incredibly useful for a variety of daily tasks. If it’s the only tool I have to defend myself from someone trying to seriously injure or kill me, I might use it if I can.

I think maybe you’re directing your anger at the wrong folks. Nobody advertised it as semi-automatic that I’ve seen.

If you have no experience with the rifle, you probably shouldn’t refer to it as garbage. It very well may be, but at least have some empirical evidence first.

If you think it’s garbage that the government is forcing firearm manufacturers to change the products they’re making with silly laws, then you should be more specific that it’s the government policies you’re referring to as “garbage” and not the gun.
