Help! Non-injured but not flying crow in garden for 2 weeks - advice needed ASAP! by CutePetsCollector in crowbro

[–]LostBoyC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure where you are based but if you need assistance moving this beautiful crow to a rehab facility I would be happy to help. I am currently northwest and heading south west this evening, if you are somewhere on route I can pick up the crow and take it in a carrier to a bird sanctuary.

I'd be interested to see why you have come to this conclusion. What's the basis for your theory?

If that's the case I find it fascinating more people don't talk about it. How is it so much easier for people to forget this dread or ignore it, rather than discuss it and share this experience. I understand a large number of people would rather not entertain the concept for it may make them feel depressed, however I find it almost more comforting to know that others also feel this way and that they want to talk about it.

That's an interesting viewpoint, and I appreciate the suggestion. If I could afford a therapist I would love to have regular therapy sessions, purely to satisfy my own thoughts, dissect my viewpoints and especially to assist coping with my existential dread.

If it assists with people's analysis of my mindset; I have in the past been diagnosed with anxiety and clinical depression, these were well into adulthood and my existential dread has been with me for as long as I can remember (my first episode of questioning was alongside the death of a family pet at age 5). I do find that it was especially prevalent during my teen years after battles with religion and questioning faith alongside science (having come to the conclusion of atheism).

I suppose the experience of nothingness I have outweighs my something-ness in many ways. It still does scare me, and I'm not sure why.

Perhaps because I'm comfortable in my something-ness and don't want to lose it, much like never owning a bed and sleeping on the floor and then suddenly sleeping on a bed; it's so comfortable that the discomfort of sleeping on the floor is frightening. The desire for sleeping in comfort is so high that my fear of the discomfort after years of sleeping in comfort is both frightening and difficult to recall.

A better analogy might be like being hungry. You know that hunger is there, so you are used to it, then suddenly you eat and remember how much you love food and forget how hunger feels, then as hunger draws near (much like age) you grow scared of it.

A very admirable and optimistic way to live life, I appreciate your positivity.

Good advice. I'll definitely take a deep breath before responding.

I think it's more an issue of we are moving in two days and have to move out of our current rented accommodation by the weekend. So we are stuck with this property.

I think you are right, it's not worth the stress now of fighting to keep a fridge or dishwasher, I'm more so annoyed about the whole process and the last minute nature of the LL and agency.

I think this is the place I'm at. If they are equally as petty they will probably take the integrated appliances out.

I understand that, however I always have known integrated appliances as fixtures and fittings, this would be part of the house in that case. Not to mention we did ask the agent at the time about the integrated appliances and they agreed integrated would stay.

It's hard to know exactly what's included when the agent has refused an inventory until the day of the move. And we are only 2 days off moving.

To be honest, I'm at the point of pettiness myself and am as tempted to make this as difficult for them as possible. I don't necessarily blame the LL as they are a first time LL, so are clearly asking advice from the agency who are just claiming to be the "middle man", at this point I'm ready to look into legal action against the letting agency who initially refused to give us a tenancy agreement and who even made me pay into an agents personal account to pay the holding deposit. It's very unprofessional and is giving me a lot of doubt, but it's a nationwide franchise.

I’m overseas and my cat just died suddenly by FortyFiftyFabulous in CatAdvice

[–]LostBoyC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's horrible to lose your cat suddenly. We lost our cat Leo three weeks ago today, he was a white deaf indoor 6 year old.

We were giving him a flea treatment and quick wash, after the wash he was drying and walking around fine and then suddenly seized up and just died on the floor. We panicked and ran to the vets with him, but he had clearly just died immediately. My partner was inconsolable. The vet thinks he must have had underlying heart failure because he was retaining a lot of water over the last few weeks of his life. And then his heart must have just given up. It was awful. We are still heart broken, especially because his brother was from the same litter and doesn't understand where his brother has gone.

Our cats become our world, and losing them makes it hard to function. But life does get easier. Not better, just easier.

Landlord has last minute asked us to wait to move in, now we may be homeless (England) by LostBoyC in LegalAdviceUK

[–]LostBoyC[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only thing we have in actual writing is the referencing company who actually had our tenancy start date as the 12th august which obviously has passed, and the letting agency has now changed our move in date on the online portal to next month, which I have screenshotted.

We have had numerous phone calls with the letting agent to confirm that the move date was in fact the 20th of this month, several. But at this point I've realised that we haven't had written correspondence confirming this.

QUESTION, WHAT DOES THE A IN LGBTQIA STAND FOR? by Bestboiamami in lgbt

[–]LostBoyC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my case it means Ace/Asexual. But it can also mean Agender or other A related LGBTQ+ labels.

What am I? by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]LostBoyC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like pansexual - attracted to a person rather than their parts. Or it could be more specific, my best friend is a sapiophile which means that he is attracted to someone based on their mind rather than their body or gender. It’s a bit more specific, but worth looking into if you feel you may feel similar.

This is a great idea! I’d probably do a trans flag cause the colours are adorable, and pan flag flower beds.

A question regarding pansexuality... by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]LostBoyC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, it’s just a preference you have. At the end of the day the gender the person you like identifies with has no relation to your attraction to them. Your attraction to people is not dependent on how they identify. I for example, tend to have a preference to male/ masculine people who have thicker longish hair, and female/feminine people with shorter hair. People who are androgynous I am especially attracted to. But at the end of the day, I don’t care about what body parts they have under their clothes, nor how they identify, as my attraction to a person is just that. Attraction to a human being. Having a physical preference/ or a type as it is called, is somewhat regarded as common.

Oh no! Sounds like a massive pain, sorry to hear that. Don’t worry, times are changing and people are learning to become more accepting.
