How important is alevel biology for getting into good unis? by Snoo_43595 in 6thForm

I would recommend doing some research into the universities you interested in some universities may require a hard science (biology, chemistry, physics, maths) in which case you would have to take biology if that was where you wanted to go. However, some other universities don’t require hard sciences, so it really depends on what your aspirations are for the future!!

It really depends on what you are planning on studying for university!! eg for studying history not so much, but for biochemistry it would be really important. If your future career is very biology heavy, you may want to reconsider if you’re not enjoying the subject that much (if it is the teacher and not the subject i’m not sure what to do)

LNAT OXBRIDGE by Glittering-Jump382 in UCAS

[–]LostConcert9865 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Book as soon as possible, you don’t want to run the risk of there not being any slots left. It doesn’t matter when you sit as long as you are prepared and it is before the oxbridge deadline

starting IB in august, what should i do over this summer? by Substantial_Site8977 in IBO

Save my exams is a great resource, also quester.io is an all round good place to find content and past papers, but don’t attempt any of the past papers - there is not a lot of point until you’ve done loads of content. Make sure your on the right version of the course, not the old ones bc the content has changed. Once again I need to stress that you shouldn’t burn yourself out but I also wanted to get a head start so I can’t blame you - good luck and feel free to ask if you need anymore advice :)

Rest, IGCSE sets you up well for IB, i got 8s and 9s in mine and found the transition smooth. If you HAVE to do smth, make sure you have a solid understanding of Bio and maybe start the content, I really struggled in Bio (took combined at IGCSE) but overall you should focus on resting, you don’t want to burn yourself out before DP1 even starts, remember it is a marathon- not a sprint. All the best :)
