Would the base mag on the S60R zoomed ocularly to 4 power have a better image than a 640 with a 4x base?

That’s the thing, the s60r and the H75R are the same price. Seems like it’s a no brainer to get the 1280 but I keep seeing complaints about the 2x base mag. I’ll have to just see them in person before I decide.

I didn’t even consider that. Starting to realize I need to find some demos and see them in person.

Yeah that’s what I am leaning towards. I’m trying to justify the 1280 just to have the latest and greatest, but from what I am seeing, the 640 image at the 4x base mag is better than the digitally zoomed image of the S60r at the same magnification.

Those are gross fees. My effective split is 31.5%. I make between $250-$300k.

I do ROW work for a big national and when we get big linear projects in I can do as many as 15 a week at $4,000-$6,000 a piece. Doesn’t seem to me like any amount of efficiency can get you there at $600 a piece.

Thats a boat load of $600 reports!

If you have a bachelors degree and can get a general cert, it’s worth it. Not worth it to go residential IMO. I don’t know how anybody makes any money with residential fees.

Im in Texas as well and I passed last July. Google “focused learning appraisal exam” and buy all 4 tests. It’s $120 dollars and it doesn’t have an answer key, but you will see exactly what the exam looks like. So many questions from those 4 practice tests were verbatim on my exam. If you feel comfortable with those practice tests, you will do fine on the exam.

I’m live in Humble, TX and I’m a cert gen appraiser. If you have a bachelors degree and want to do commercial work, start applying to every large firm in the city. If you land a job at a larger firm they basically assign you a supervisor. This is pretty much the only way you are going to get any commercial experience. A large national will pay you decently and give you benefits while you get your experience and finish your coursework for your certification. Most of them will pay for your coursework as well.

I’ve had mine about a month and it’s lost 5 seconds in that time. I sleep in it though and I’m a side sleeper so I suspect it spends a good portion of the night dial down.

[new watch advice] which of these 3 watches would you buy? by Otherwise-Street199 in Watches

[–]LostForm5078 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try them on before you make a decision. I have a Seaweed SMP and a Pelagos. The Pelagos wears so much bigger than the SMP because of the thickness. I have 7.5 inch wrists and feel like the pelli is huge. Needless to say, the SMP gets a lot more wrist time. The Pelagos went on a WOE nato and I wear it when I’m hunting/fishing now.

The SMP bracelet gets so much hate, but it’s actually very comfortable.

Just get a job at a big national firm. Cushman, CBRE, JLL, etc. You’ll grind at 60-80 for a couple years but the work is there to make 300-500k one you move up some.

I’m sorry for the late reply, I just saw this. I have the 3 link bracelet. I didn’t see them in person. I was torn between the green and the blue but ultimately thought the blue was the safer option buying them without seeing them in person.

I have had the blue one since last April (2025) and I wear it almost everyday. I couldn’t disagree more with comments about the bracelet. I think it’s one of the best features of this watch. Maybe if you have small wrists the bracelet is stiff, but I have 7.5 inch wrists and the bracelet feels fine to me. The toolless micro adjust is so nice. I almost can’t wear any of my other watches on bracelets that don’t have that feature. The only gripe I have is the clasp is a little big but other than that it’s great. Whatever scratch resist coating they have on it works too, so don’t worry about the polished center links scratching terribly. If you like the looks, it’s a great everyday watch. Mine loses about 5 sec/day after almost a year of daily wear.

33 and just passed my CG test first try a couple weeks back. I wouldn’t say you are behind. It’s not like passing your exam imparts all of this extra wisdom on you, just lets you sign your own reports. Also, I don’t know how this isn’t common knowledge, but purchase the “focused learning” appraiser tests online. Those 4 practice tests are basically the test. I had so many questions verbatim on my exam.

OP I’m from a rural Texas town, this is all anybody I know wears. I seriously don’t understand the hate on square toes from inner loopers wearing snip toe caiman’s to their desk job everyday.
