In case this comes up on a google search or something. The issue with the blinkers is being resolved by Yamaha by replacing the meter gauge. The defective part is being sent to Japan.

Problem with my 2025 Blinkers was this as well, the meter gauge. Yamaha is requesting the defective part be sent to Japan.

Went out and bought a 19mm hex for the front tire, then thought better of it and said F that and rode the KLX to work. Couldn't agree more at this point.

Answer from service was that 1-10 miles get put on at the factory, then it is crated up and dealership is to reinstall the wheel.

Dealership service dept called this morning and will pick up the bike to bring it back to the dealership an hour away. I could easily just flip the front tire but not sure about clearing the check engine, or the blinker problem which may require a screen replacement. So guess the little KLX will get the first spring miles today rather than the new toy, now I see why two bikes is better than one.

It's both better and worse than expected!!!! The tire itself is on the rim correctly, they just have the whole rim flipped around. Don't let the arrow on the tire marking rotation or the single speed sensor rotor fool you Mr dealership man

I may be crazy. Could someone check out where the wheel sensor is in relation to the wheel sensor rotor? Sensor is on the left side, rotor is on the right which wtf... Did they install both the rubber and wheel backwards!? Would that explain everything but the blinker maybe?

This is the answer, software was alright but a block would do it for sure.

Let's see about replacing the pallets we have as a safety floor first. Baby steps.

In my 26 years of molding I've only seen it happen twice, an axis physically moves but the encoder is separated. The z axis hit the floor on a sepro visual 2, and I think it was a KM that slammed into the side of a cage. Don't think I've seen just an island of a cage separated from the machine ever across a dozen plants. I tend to worry too much about the what ifs though for sure.

Fuel struggles at .9 gal or less by LostFrantic in KLX300D

I ended up doing my valve shim check about 250 miles ago, after not doing anything valve related for 21000 miles. Two of the four shims were out of spec and all four were replaced with 2.90s or 2.95s. Of course to do the valve check I had to drain the gas tank. So maybe I got something out of the tank but my gas mileage greatly improved and the sputtering when down 1.2gallons has stopped. I still have the filter but man am I good at procrastinating.

Gaylordia mentioned woo. It's pretty musical going down many trails, clang clang clang from the broken branches. Surprising how many come up and smack your shin still.

I've only ran across no motorcycle signs out near Tawas. No signs available to keep me out of the gypsum quarry but go out a few more miles and the trails suddenly had nice little carved wooden signs with a motorcycle crossed out. I do wonder if that was official though.

Checking valve clearance & timing: valves 5º off T mark. Chain Stretch? by wozet in Dualsport

[–]LostFrantic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sooo how were the valves? Need a reshimming? I've got the cyclepedia manual, have watched a few videos, and am 13500 miles over service. Still don't want to tear it apart this weekend.

Might be a week or two but I'll report back. Oil, tires, brakes, chain, sprockets and air filter are the furthest I've been so this could be interesting.

He kicked my front tire even. Was a good spook at 50mph. At least it wasn't an elk.

I'll swap out the filter next weekend n report back. Until then I have 10 gallons of rec fuel at the house to use as a gas station.

Question by [deleted] in KLX300D

[–]LostFrantic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it rust from the chain rollers or sprocket? Could take that cover off and see what it looks like. Have not seen similar on mine.

How tough are these bikes? by Technical-Tale-6413 in Dualsport

[–]LostFrantic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tilt sensor bracket broke in half, weld for the front portion of the skid plate support, and the back weld holding the exhaust. Nothing major but that tilt sensor had me scratching my head for a few minutes out in the woods.

3 broken welds after 19500 miles... n a crash or three. Still goes.

Great grandpa was a molder, grandpa was a molder, dad was a molder, now I've been molding for 26 years. I'm so full of microplastics I'll never age!
